Cricketics Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 For desi wickts, I think Mcgrath and Nannes is a pretty good opening bowling pair for us. Don't know how would Nannes fair on these pitches but i feel he would come out good.

ViruRulez Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 I just checked the squad and CLT20 management has confirmed replacement of Paul Collingwood as McGrath but they have not yet announced any replacement for Vettori. Is Vettori fit? I thought he was not playing the clt20 due to injury in the semi final of CL. :hmmm: If Vettori is fit to play then McGrath might not get chance again and rest in the bench. I am quite sure they will play Dilshan, Nannes, Vettori and Owais Shah as the four internationals if Vettori is fit. They are missing ABDV and Karthik has not been in much form recently too. So I dont think they will risk playing lesser quality batsmen and will go with both Dilshan and Owais Shah. Anyways they have both Nehra and Sangwan as the local fast bowlers. PS : Can other teams also play 4 overseas player or the rules are different for other teams? I couldn't find any other team even having more than 2 overseas players in the entire squad. How many can they play in the XI?

So it doesn't make sense to follow IPL rules. So they have removed the limitation on number of foreign players, i believe.

Hosts RCB and the South African T20 domestic champions Cape Cobras, who will face off in the opener, wound up their preparations on Wednesday morning itself allowing for the other entertainers - the dancers, drummers, et all - to take over the Chinnaswamy Stadium in order to rehearse their respective acts ahead of the much-anticipated opening ceremony that will feature a few top international acts as well. Offtopic: The big bash T20 domestic tourney in Australia will be quite an event this year with the likes of UV, Afridi (NSW), Gayle (WA), Malinga(Tasmania) and Murali/Flintoff and Bravo (Victoria) are expected to play in it. :eyedance:
