CSK Fanatic Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Well even I felt he is one who will end up in company of Sachin, Lara, Dravid and Ponting. He has all igredients of world class batsmen, still feels 16 tests is very short sample to ridicule him. OP is justified in starting this thread, dont we also get overexcited? Guy has fluency that we saw in Sachin in 90s.
Gotham Cronie Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 bump
Name|Matches| Innings|Runs|Average|100|50 Umar Khatmal |16| 30| 1003| 35.82| 1| 6
Almost two years in to debut and after 16 matches and 30 innings he reached biggest milestone of his career..1003 runs at an unbelievable average of 36 with ONE hundred!! Only 13962 runs short of Sachin :--D Tendulkar after 30 innings.
Name|Matches| Innings|Runs|Average|100|50 Sachin Tendulkar |20| 30| 1085| 38.75| 4| 4
Similar stats after 30 innings. Tendulkar had him beat on centuries by far, however.
SachDan Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Tendulkar after 30 innings.
Name|Matches| Innings|Runs|Average|100|50 Sachin Tendulkar |20| 30| 1085| 38.75| 4| 4
Similar stats after 30 innings. Tendulkar had him beat on centuries by far, however. Bowlers encountered by Sachin in that period..Akram,Imran,Waqar,Hadlee,Donald,Warne and McDermot. Name one great bowler faced by Umar, still his average sucks!
Sid Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Akmal will have a better ODI record than test record in future.
Gotham Cronie Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Bowlers encountered by Sachin in that period..Akram' date='Imran,Waqar,Hadlee,Donald,Warne and McDermot. Name one great bowler faced by Umar, still his average sucks![/quote'] I don't even want Umar in the test team right now. I'd rather have Asad Shafiq. To compare him to Tendulkar is just stupid. He should be compared to his peers (Morgan, Kohli, etc..)
Sarkar Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Its an Insult to Sachin to compare Umar akmal with Sachin there is only one Sachin no one can beat him
Manny_Pacquiao Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 wow, is this a serious threaD??? :giggle: Akmal will have a better ODI record than test record in future. doubt it. he won't even he have a career in international cricket. just not good enuff, i'm afraid. in the future, he will most likely have emigrated to the UK (innit brap brap) on asylum status, and would have begun working on Afshaq bhai's cab rank, while saving up for a 3 bed in the nearby council estate where he can house his inbred family of 30 as they bask in the glory of a western lifestyle. its the pakistani dream. in the mean time, he will have to share with a few other paki legends who are better than Tendulkar, Imran nazir and Farqad Alarm. who knows, he might even get called up for ingerland once he gets his papers. multiculturalism zindabad. his sturdy teeth would come in handy for taking the tops off beer bottles. he will be eulogized in dressing rooms and message boards all across the isles for averaging 35 bottle tops removed per week.
Haarkarjeetgaye Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 I did not read all the post but LMAO on the topic. Umar Akmal will not even come half as close as Tendulkar stats. Moreso because nobody will play Pakistan be it nuetral or venues in Pakistan. Also Pakistan rarely get as many tests as any other country

Haarkarjeetgaye Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 He might beat Tendulkar's ODI records. :dontknow: naah. that many centuries...no way..ODIs being played will go down because of T20s. Also even ODIs many countries will avoid playing in Pakistan
Cricket Tragic Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 naah. that many centuries...no way..ODIs being played will go down because of T20s. Also even ODIs many countries will avoid playing in Pakistan Total runs in ODIs? :dontknow:
Haarkarjeetgaye Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Total runs in ODIs? :dontknow: :hysterical: you hope and I wish him the best. It aint going to happen
tendulkar Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 He must play his natural game hitting 4s and 6s in test matches. Btw he failed on a very flat pitch.
Pagalpanti Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 The only record of Sachin he can match or overtake is the no. of ducks.
Clarke Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Manny's back with his analysis :hysterical::hysterical:
