Umar Akmal: One to break Tendulkar's Records ?

No one knows the Future. But in Indian Sub-Continent, if any batsman has impressed me after Sachin, then it is Umar Akmal. Only batsman in Indian-Subcontinent (or perhaps in World) who has shown the Talent matching to Tendu,.... then it is Umar Akmal. Age is also on his side & with 19 years of age, he is going to play next 15-16 years. I know it is too early to compare some one with Great Tendulkar, but friends let me dance a little as it is rare to see Pakistani producing Quality Batsman as compared to India. Good wishes to this young lad.

Seriously, this guy has lot of potentiol as a batsman.But talent alone won't help him to be a great player.If he can match his talent with temperament and dedication towards the game,he'll continue to serve Pak cricket for a long time to come.

He has really impressed me with whatever little I have seen of him. The encouraging part about his batting is that he is not a front foot plonker and judges the length of the ball very early. Definitely one to look out for in the future.

Too early to comment on breaking records but looks solid... can accelerate the score at any time and looks to play in the v. His cover drive is pleasing to the eye as well.

I know Records are meant to be broken etc but take this in writing. Umar Akmal or no one for that matter would ever beat Sachins Record 1) Be a opener 2) Someone of his class offcourse - talent 3) Stay on in the team for 20 years ( 20 years is a freaking looooooong time ) 4) The number of 50-over ODI's 5) Team Selection 6) Politics in the board ( Sachin IMO was never dropped ) 7) Fitness Even if anyone sticks on - and make 1000 ODI runs a year ( which again boils down to no of ODI's, they would have to score 1K runs per year for 16 years, and a 16 year old would be 32 by that time Seriously, no one...just no one
