Seems to be a problem, but a good one.. Playing India next, should asif play, and if so who does he replace? Aamer and Gul places are confirmed, Rana can bat a bit for a number 8, Afridi is vice captain, most likely for Ajmal but Centurion assisted spin bowlers. Vs India, Afridi isnt as effective so you'd be temped to keep Ajmal for control but Asif hasnt played cricket for almost a year but can you keep someone out with a test average of 23? :nervous:

There is one thing about Asif, which people normally neglecting at moment. Asif had big Pain Problem in his elbow. Due to this his speed was ridiculously went about 125-130. Then he got the elbow operation. And now he got complete one year to take rest. (Please remember that Asif was much faster than being 125-130 kmp bowler before getting this elbow problem .... he was almost 140 kmp bowler that time)

You are not alone. But with batting it is not one many army anymore. We have the number 1 ODI batsman in our side. Problem is lack of accelerators. Even Tendulkar can accelerate only upto a point. If you look for frantic acceleration you need Sehwag/Yuvraj. Yusuf is a lottery. Raina on a good day can belt a few sixes. Dravid even if he gives 500% cannot accelerate at certain speeds. It is a seriously predictable line up. We have a bunch of pie chuckers to go with this. India must play Mishra and Bhajji since we have lost Yuvraj. Slow bowlers will be more effective.

Dear friend, You must remember the amount of nandro was really not so high but marginally above the allowed level. (and then there were differences in A & B samples too). Therefore, I don't think that this factor is going to play a big role. All depends upon the pitch upon which India & Pakistan are going to play with each other. If it is a green Top then Pakistan should bring Asif in & India better to bring Paraveen Kumar in as he is the best Swing Bowler in India at moment.

Their pace attack is a good one, even without Mohammed Asif. Aamer and Rana provide something that’s rarely seen these days at the international level – Genuine swing bowling options. Also with their right-left variety, they wont be that easy to get away with. And Gul is well.. Gul. He is a VERY good bowler. I doubt if they’re going to bring in an untested Asif into a game as important as the one against us. But whichever Pakistani eleven takes the field on Saturday, our top order will have our work cut out against them. What worries me the most is the threat Aamer poses, especially to Sachin. Sachin has, at various times in the past, shown some vulnerability against the left-arm-over inswinger. Whether we bat first or bowl first, if they manage to nick Sachin out early, that’ll be a devastating blow to our morale.
