vvvslaxman Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 His lack of technique is what concerns everyone. His brother played a little match winning knock at Perth with great technique. This guy is just the opposite. He is good for IPL and T20. That's it.
gs Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 watch yusuf smash the aussies on patta indian wickets.he will be retained just for that. Agreed, horses for coarses. YKP will smack the leather off the ball in Indian pitches, but in S.Africa he was clueless. IKP being the more 'correct' batsman would have had a higher probability of success in non-subcontinental conditions. Based on the performances in CT, we need to boot out both Ishant and RPS. Replace one with IKP and the other with someone like Sreesanth. YKP should be let loose on the Aussies on Indian tracks!!! But when we travel, he'll just be a journeyman.

jusarrived Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Irfan in place of Yosuf , we would have made the semis ....not that am a huge fan of Irfan , but the younger pathan seems a more mature player to me ..I dont like players who look confused under pressure , especially some one batting at 7 .. he should only play in T20s
satishg Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Yusuf somehow seems to me as a player who is confused about his role and also who lacks the will to grind it out and make it big in the international scene. He is a monstrous hitter but you need a lot of other things other than just hitting abilities to succeed at the international level even as a hitter. Its sad that he is not living up to his promise that he has shown in the IPL. I am pretty sure he would be shown the door in the next series as he has got a lot of chances.
zub2006 Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Yusuf has got the potential big time but 15 over run chase is going to be hard for him. He is more suited to a 5 or 7 over run chase. I would not drop him yet but it does not look too good for him.
king5000 Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 he is a 20-20 player thats it... he needs to score more hundreds in domestic to be considered a 50 over player
Show_stopper Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Yes one would have to agree there is no place in this side for YKP. Raina can do a better job than him with the ball and so it makes no sense to persist with him. Once Viru and Yuvi are back..I reckon we should drop Yusuf permanently and give his spot to Kohli..who clearly deserves to be more than an injury replacement. Ideally I would like to see the following 7 batsmen.. Sachin Sehwag Gambhir Yuvraj Dhoni Raina Kohli we have Yuvi,Raina and even Viru who are good enough to do the 5th bowler's duties.
Sachinism Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 ^^ That would be ideal. Now our bowlers need to fix up
SachDan Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 After playing 30 odis, maximum number of balls faced by YP in an innings is all of 38!

Like I said in the other thread...its really unfortunate. But I see no other choice until Sachin retires or one of the top 6 has an injury or something.
don_corleone840 Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 I have said this before here, but I'll say it again. India should only play tests at the ICC level now. They should quit playing ODIs and T20Is and instead focus on the IPL. The IPL should be expanded to a 5 month season. And the other 7 months India plays tests and only tests.

And the other 9 months he should spend his time on padosi(bang, sl, pak, afghani, timbaktu, somalia, nepal ....) forums.

mastana Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 That is injustice with us.... How about a transfer window for all the trolls in asian cricket forums? :hehe: You can take achilles, don on loan for 6 months. Both like to talk negative about Indian cricket. :hehe:

Guest Hiten. Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Has been a complete passenger on this tour. I hope this was his last ODI series ever in India colors.
