The Outsider Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 If your number 7 batsman cannot pull off run a ball 15 over chases he has no business in the team - this is not T20.
cowboysfan Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 i agree.this was a situation tailor made for him.having yuvi sort of shielded him but now he is in the forefront.
Guest gaurav_indian Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Kick RP and Ishant first. The problem is in bowling.
Shehezaada Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 hasn't done anything in a while but he's such a special talent. I'd stick with him for the next 2 games atleast.
Cricketics Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Irfan Pathan is a very mature batsman then his brother. I don't know how he wasn't even included in probable list which is absolutely pathetic. A player of Irfan's caliber not even in probable list of 30 players
SachDan Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Yes. It's high time he's shown the door. You can't be part of the team just coz you are a 'power hitter'.
ViruRulez Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Yusuf should be kicked out .. even Irfan would have done a lot better.. for this series experiment with Nayar instead But I am also worried about our bowling Frankly speaking our whole batting seems to be in a mess now with our B-team. Previously we had batting depth upto no. 10 position in Zak but it was terrible to see even a no. 8 batsman like RP struggling to hold the bat properly
riya Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I wonder what is the ultimate ''feeling'' of those who support YP.

The Outsider Posted September 26, 2009 Author Posted September 26, 2009 The bowling was bad and the captaincy was poor but thanks to Gambhir, Raina, and Dravid we were in a position to win the match with 15 overs to go when Pathan walked in and failed yet again.
jusarrived Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I actually remember winning from much difficult situations & so i cant belive ~70 rns from last 10 with 5 wickets in hand , its YP and the long tail which is the problem clearly Get Nayar in for Pathan Amit Mishra in for RP & Shoot Harbajan
Jabu Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Kick first Dhoni mate RP:bumsmack::bumsmack:. After we can talk abt rest of them.
kabira Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Kick first Dhoni mate RP:bumsmack::bumsmack:. After we can talk abt rest of them. you must be crazy, seamers did okay, usual stuff, its our spinner that failed miserably.
kabira Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 The bowling was bad and the captaincy was poor but thanks to Gambhir' date=' Raina, and Dravid we were in a position to win the match with 15 overs to go when Pathan walked in and failed yet again.[/quote'] Quite Right. I think likes of Rohit Sharma/ Karthik would have taken closer to the home, with sensible batting.
Mr. Wicket Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Pathan is a very good power hitter, but I am not convinced by his ability to grind it out in tougher situations and build an innings. He's the kind of guy you want coming in at 8 or so if his other skills merit selection, but not a 7. India needs a more stable and reliable batsman, Abhishek Nayar should really be considered there.
coffee_rules Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Pathan is a pipe dream for ODIs and Tests.. He is v good T20 player. That is it.
The Realist Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Yeah I am afraid time is up on Y.Pathan. I was a fan but no more. He looks unconvincing at the crease and you always feel hes going to get out soon. Seems to lack the technique to able to play long innings on a consistent basis. Would be better to play a proper bowler or batsman in his place. His brother is a better bet in the short term but longer term India need to find a quality all rounder to fill the No.7 slot.
Texy Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I wonder if a promotion given to YP to a higher batting slot will make any difference?
