These guys were good when they started with him. Now they've lost the plot. They seem to have lost the basics. What is a coach supposed to do in this position. These guys know you can't bowl short and wide and yet they keep chucking them out there. If VP has messed about with their actions, then he needs to be help accountable. But if they bowlers have a case of yips, then you have to hold them accountable

Its not the first time that bowlers with good potential entered the team' date=' impressed initially and then after coaching, fell apart. You want to keep shuffling bowlers in and out? In recent times we have had as many opening bolwers as Pakistan had opening batsmen[/quote'] why do u think they impressed earlier? n how do u know that thier falling apart is due to bad coaching?it may well be that they r not smart n experienced enuf n dont wat to do wen they r attacked?things were different wen Zak was around,no? n it may be that they have become complacent?

so this then says tht VP is a trash coach.. according to wat u say.. Zak makes the diff and not VP... so based on tht shudnt VP be kicked out ??
lol isnt that the role of the coach .. to teach/ train them on those aspects..?

VP makes the difference in honing the skills, adding more repertoire in the bowlers armoury in the nets. ZK makes a difference in the ground,on wat ball to bowl next or motivating them wen they r attacked. different things both

Zak when he plays guides all the bowlers standing at Midoff or Midon. Either VP does nothing or screws up something. Only difference i see is Ishant is not bowling that many noballs but he is often bowling at Ganguly's pace. Read this Troy Cooley's interview What would you say are the steps to follow to produce a fast bowler? I'd list five basic steps that a bowler must have as a starting point. Fitness. Fast bowling is a skill with a high injury-rate. Research has proved that 17% of fast bowlers are out at any point of time. So you've got to be fit and you've got to have a very good base of support. The specific ways that bowlers can be fit is dependent on how the conditioners and physios operate. Specific fitness is paramount. Run-up. Fast bowlers need to be able to repeat their action. For me, you need a good, balanced run-up. Now that's one part of your action which you can work on and get better at easily. Jump. You need a good jump into the crease, one that moves along the momentum line or target line. Strength and stability. You've got four times your weight going on your back foot when you land. And your front foot needs to take nine times your body weight. So you must have the strength and stability to endure such strain. And finally a good follow-through. Those are the basics you're looking for. You can be side-on, semi-over, front-on but you need to be able to repeat those steps day in and day out. .....Read More

looseness is very important for a fast bowler. An ideal fast bowler would be someone who loves stretching. i mean serious stretching. i read that in bob woolmer's biography. i think Troy's interview is fantastic. at one point he talks about having a battery of 7-8 fast bowlers and making them work as a unit. Incase some of them are injured...u will always have others to depend on. Prasad should have forseen this situation.
