Prasad was the bowling coach when India won the series in England, ripped through Australia at Perth, Indian bowlers out swung (reverse and conventional) the Aussies under no lesser than Troy Cooley a year back, and did the same against England, and outbowled NZ in their own conditions. wat i meant was certificate alone doesnt prove tht he is a good coach.. Ah sh*t. You should have told me this earlier. I would not have bothered in getting my Engineering degree and just shown up at the company quoting you :giggle: So how should a coach be elected ? We all know be a great player means jack when it comes to coaching. Trial and error ? anyone who goes through the course and clears some exam can get a certificate.. not necessarily does it mean they r good.. stop being a smartarse.. will ya:finger: :whack:

Specially when proteges of reverse swing messiah, Troy Cooley were bowling down a straight path and Ishant and Zaheer were reverse swinging after 15 overs?

Here is wht I said problem here is not if crappy players can be coach or not .. ofcourse they can be .. but they should have right credentials .. They should have past record showing how many kids have gone through him and r doing good .. and for prasad it was nil .. If they don't have right credentials than their track record as a player is seen .. and for prasad he was the biggest dabba bowler ever in indian history .. and prasad flops in both of those criterias .. Gary too don't have any international coaching credentials so his record as player is seen .. which were great .. Tht is good for getting him the job... but how he performs in the job will decide if he will continue or not .. But for prasad it was zero in both areas .. even in coaching and even as a player .. So he shouldn't be selected in the first place .. he just came through approach .. and I am sure sachin has a big role to play in tht .. FYI Prasad has coaching credentials in form of grade 3 certificate.thats more than Gary's. n Greg Chappell was also a great player,wat does that mean as a coach? May be gary too turn out to be useless but he should be given some time like prasad was given so much of time ... Prasad was a useless player and even a useless coach .. he did india more harm than good ... Prasad was given time because he earned it thru performances.u forget how we bowled in Eng test series.out bowled Aussies wen they came here.won the T20 WC.Our pacers won us the Perth test remember infact as soon as our performances dipped he was sacked.he wasnt given time
DomainK Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 One thing I know is that Indian bowling was much worse before Prasad joined and during his tenure, we saw some great bowling achievements by India. We can not call him crap what so ever, though I agree that we need someone else now. Same goes for Robin. Indians were never great fielders, but he made a difference at least. Now that they are going, lets not kick them on the butt and disrespect them because India did not do so well in the last few games.

jf1gp_1 Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Robin had to go, the way we have been fielding is just terrible, in SL we had yuvraj, raina, kohli, kartick all brilliant fielders yusuf and rp singh are above avg fielders yet the kind of fielding on display nowhere fits the quality that we should get from the set of players we had. I am not so sure if we should have removed prasad; our bowling has seen its up and down since he has been with the team. Also if Zaheer doesnt return soon Nehra will be the senior most bowler in that squad which is a scary thought.

Memory span is the biggest problem with us Indian fans. We find it difficult to remember anything beyond the last 2/3 matches.

Zaheer was already inform gained frm his county exp when he back to the team.. thtsy he was selected... and if you see Ishant has gained immensely when zaheer was out there... so does tht tell you whos been guiding him.. when u read prasad's latest interview, he was talking crap.. i dont think hes good enough to coach an international team....

I As I said, BCCI is ran by bunch nincompoops and did not have the courtesy of telling its staff member about laying the off. It is pretty sad that Venky got to know about this through media and is quite embarrassing to be frank.
