Another case of people crying over symbolism. I am more worried that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed may actually get acquitted.
Lurker
ppl dont care about Obama calling Tibet a part of china but are offended by this gesture Right on. This is a huge diplomatic win for China. Now everytime a country, say India, raises Tibet issue this statement would be shoved in their face. Anytime there is a discussion about Dalai Lama Chinese would use this to their advantage. Afterall there is no way one can call Tibet a part of China and not consider Dalai Lama as anything but seperatist. An extremely poor judgement from USA and Obama in particular. And its not that he can go back tomorrow with a "I was misquoted". xxx
coffee_rules
There was a similar storm when Obama did a similar bow/genuflected to the saudi king. Republicans have a field day with this.

The Outsider
Hasn't the Dalai Lama himself stated that Tibet is part of China and all they are seeking is greater autonomy now?
Ram
They are stupid if they focus on this rather than the China gaffe and the scary possibility of KSM going scot-free in a few months. What was the China Gaffe? And reg. KSM, there is no way that is happening. The Justice department must have been a 1000% sure that they have a water-tight case against him. Its hilarious to see the utter disingeneuity to which Fox can stoop down to, to find fault with Obama. For eff’s sake, they once took exception to Obama pronouncing Pakistan the right way and not as Pack-istan!
