rkt.india Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 His bowling action is quite doubtful for me. I want your opinions about it.
rkt.india Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 what I see is he keeps his elbow bent when delivers the bowl. Need to check his elbow in slomo
rkt.india Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 that was the case with Kamran khan too and his style is quite similar to Kamran Khan and bent elbow means chuck.
rkt.india Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 I felt like that in a few of his deliveries when his action changes a bit
Jersey #10 Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 if he doesn't band his elbow more than 45 degrees angle he is fine! Any videos of him bowling?
Ram Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Rkt.India, get in line. The first time i saw him on day 1 of the first test, I felt something was amiss. In fact, I had also posted a video of the Ruchira Perera, another Lankan left-arm over, bowling. There is an uncanny similarity between the actions of these two bowlers and Ruchira Perera was 'called'. With reg. to Welegedera, his action looks ok in general, but at certain points, especially in the subsequent spells of the day, when he's a little tired and his action falls apart a bit, something seems 'wrong'. There's no doubt in my mind that his left bowling arm isnt as straight as it could be, during the delivery stride. However, the rules say you can have a bent arm, but the extension of it should not be more than 15 degrees. So, even though, to the naked eye, his action does seem a bit suspect, he may well come out clean.
Sachinism Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 if he doesn't band his elbow more than 45 degrees angle he is fine! Any videos of him bowling? :omg:
Jersey #10 Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 :omg: I meant to say 180-45 = 135 degrees... I think that's what the rule says...
Sachinism Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I think the rule is about 15-19 degrees. I'll have to look it up, but 45 degrees is way too much allowance
punjabi_khota Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 I meant to say 180-45 = 135 degrees... I think that's what the rule says... :fail: it is 15 degrees....not 45
Jersey #10 Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 :fail: it is 15 degrees....not 45 source?
Dravid Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 source? how dare you DOUBT info provided by boi khota?:weights:
riya Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 that was the case with Kamran khan too and his style is quite similar to Kamran Khan and bent elbow means chuck. Thats not how it is.If the arm remains the same during delivery stride, thats not a chuck. On the other hand chucking is not just bent elbow.Benting the elbow and then straightening it during delivery is also chucking.
