Kemar Roach:The Next West Indian and Barbados express

Kemar Roach from Barbados,is he next in line of the bowlers from Barbados who stuck fear in the heart of batsman with sheer pace? The Marshalls and Wes Halls did it and so did Garner and Clarke, will Roach do it?He has fellow Barbados quickie Fidel Edwards and Jamaican express Jerome taylor, who are equally quick for company If the West Indians get their injury worries sorted out and get a full team out on the field, for the 1st time since early 1990s they will have three express bowlers capable of bowling upwards of 90 mph in their attack, combine that with the spin of Benn and the attack looks impressive. Roach is pretty uncomplicated no slinging action,no hyperextension,no built like a hulk either,it is a clean chest on action with a short run up,the pace being generated through the shoulder and back muscles. To top it Roach is 21,Taylor 25 and Edwards 27 all having enough time on their hands to make soem serious impact on world cricket. For starters lets have the Kangaroos dancing on the Calypso beat at the Perth.

If only speed was everything. That said the WI attack will look much better once Edwards and Taylor return. If they can be injury-free and improve their line and length, surely the attack would be one to reckon with.

His avg was around 145.5 kph for the first 8 overs he bowled in the 2nd innings. I dont know after that.
After that most of his deliveries were touching 150kph.He is only 21 and he is not a wayward bowler like Fidel Edwards. Taylor,Edwards & Roach vs Raina,Rohit & Kohli in 20/20 WC :yay:

For a change, a WI fast bowler was willing to pitch the ball up on OZ pitches and not get carried away by the bounce. With Perth coming up, though, I wonder if I spoke too soon.

Gavin Tonge is another good prospect. Not as pacy as Roach but hits 140kmph quite often. There has been a lot of talk in Carib about two Jamaicans - Ricardo Dacres and Andrew Richardson. The former is 6'5 and he has got some pace it seems. Richardson played a match against us in one of the tour games. Don't remember if he is quick or not but has got good returns in the last two domestic seasons.

There is one more quickie in Carib will soon join the list is Brendon Bess. He is probably quicker than Roach as i have heard about him when England toured WI, but a bit raw and erratic right now.
