I dont understand why Australia has been preparing flat pitches in this series (maybe to negate Steyn, Morkel, Philander, Kallis ?) The one at Brisbane was a flat track and this one also seems to be a batting paradise. It doesnt seem to be resulting in crowd attendance as most stands seem to be empty. The way forward should be to make pitches more livelier and bowler friendly and get people interested in a contest between bat and ball. Watching bowlers getting flogged all day can get tedious very fast.

This is not all to do with pitch and more to do with filthy crap bowling dished out by Proteas. That guy Tahir alone accounted for one third of 480 runs scored and that too in 20 overs.They had kallis and steyn injured.

:agree: the only team that deserved the no 1 spot in the last 10 years was Australia. The rest (be it India or Eng or SA) weren't exactly the best in the world for a substantial period and this will continue for some more years.

This was still a very flat track. The first day, nothing was happening for SA bowlers. So winning the toss was very crucial and the Aussies made the most of it.

Adelaide has always been a flat track but it has produced results over the years. For South Africa, the draw is as good as a win - Faf pulled off a Herculean effort in his maiden test, a match saving 100 and that too in the fourth innings!
