donkey Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Wasnt worth the hype, looking forward to Shrek in 3d.
Ram Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 There's only one word to describe this movie - EPIC! I could write a thousand words describing why I absolutely loved the movie, but it would be suffice to say that is quite possibly the best movie I have seen, EVER. Amidst all the usual crap that Hollywood generally throws out these days, James Cameron has produced a gem here. I wouldnt be surprised at all if this movie goes on to beat Titanic as the highest grossing movie all-time. Obviously, I dont wanna give too much away and spoil the fun for the rest of ya all, but if you're a movie buff, (which most of us are, here), this one is a must watch. And please, dont hesitate to dig that bit deeper into your pocket to watch the 3-D version. I promise you, you will not regret it. Jim Cameron yo bluddy legendz! And just as I had predicted, :winky: 'Avatar' ends 'Titanic's reign as highest grossing movie ever Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/movies/2010/01/26/2010-01-26_avatar_ends_titanics_reign_as_highest_grossing_movie_ever.html#ixzz0dkoL5hJK
Guest Hiten. Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 So a Canadian director re-writes US box-office history. Sheesh! Don't you wish there were more Canadians in the industry now :aetsch:

Population 2. Inflation When you take these two into account, the amount of money grossed by a movie is always going to increase with time. So it is a no brainer that a SRK movie today will earn more than Sholay - and be declared as a bigger hit than Sholay. Hope that makes sense?

But still, that doesnt take anything away from this movie.

Thanks nospam :two_thumbs_up: those are just american figures, world wide figures are much more.. When adjusted for inflation, "Titanic" would still come out on top, with its gross worth at least $2.5 billion in today's numbers. By that measure, though, both of Cameron's films would fall to yet another sweeping romance with political and social dimensions: "Gone With the Wind," which in 1939 grossed $400 million. That would be equal to at least $6 billion today.
