This is what you have to expect from Ishant. He's an extremely talented bowler who offers something completely different than the other swing bowlers we have. He's going to have his good days and his bad. That's what being a young bowler is all about. He's not like Sreesanth who's been in the team for years and still can't bowl a consistent spell. I've always said, give this kid time, and patience and he'll be a solid test bowler for us.

I just saw the highlights and i must say that it was one of his best spells in his short career. It reminded me of how he made Punter his bunny in that debut tour and also later in 2008. He consistently beat Mahela's bat and that 1 over where he bowled incutters and out swingers was simply a joy to watch. With that pace and moving the ball both ways, he becomes doubly dangerous. The pitch was offering him something but still he had to put the ball in the right areas and how splendidly he did that. Here's to may more spells like that from Ishant :two_thumbs_up:

he was brilliant. to be fair, i didnt think he did poorly on day 1 either. a few loose deliveries, but he wasnt helped by dhoni's field settings which gave him little protection around third man and an empty off side field. parana-whatsisname got plenty of boundaries through edges going to a vacant third man region. india needs to play ishant in every single test. the guy is a WICKET TAKER and can cause problems for the best batsmen. he is the best thing we have after zaheer

he is doing neither by floating the ball, at least when he hits the deck he was not so bloody expensive.

I didn't watch him bowl in the second innings, but it's quite possible he was just trying out something new with nothing at stake in the match. Our replacement fast bowler is Munaf, so Ishant has to play and we just have to hope for the best.

Somebody needs to ask what exactly is eric simmons doing, is Ishant ducking work like RP singh who became fat and was looking so lackadaisical. It looks like this guy is intent on becoming a good bowler but nobody is guiding him.

The biggest problem with Ishant is that he gives too many boundry balls.He is very very inconsistent. In test matches he is going for 5 runs per over then what will he do in ODI? He has played 25 test matches but he isnt learning from his mistakes. Same short and wide bowls again and again. Our selectors are idiots.Why was he selected for SL test series? Did he prove himself in the domestic cricket?

It would be sad if Ishant got dropped for another buffoon who bowls the same shite...... I would rather stick with Ishant and let him develop into something, he has age on his side and has the talent to prove it.
