Every year The ICC presents the mace to the captain of the #1 ranked Test team..usually done around April IIRC. I guess they have done the required calculations and deemed that there isn't any chance of us being overtaken. It simply means we are the test champions for 2009-10

Man when this mace was first presented to the Saffies and then Punter i was so yearning for the moment when one of the Indian captain will hold it in his hand and i never thought this moment would come so soon. Its like a dream come true! Proud of my team and proud of MSD :)
