Do you believe that things are pre-destined? Everything is meant to happen a certain way and while we think we are 'controlling' or 'determining' the course of action, that too is nothing but pre-determined destiny? Or do you think it is all B.S.? Was having an interesting discussion with someone who said that MANY believe it is all pre-determined - I was not sure if MANY believe that?

I dont beleive in destiny. Also dont beleive in the whole adage - Whatever does not kill you makes you stronger. In the end these are merely words/philosphy to make you feel better. It is up to you to pull yourself up by your bootstraps and march on. If you were smiling before an incident, you can also smile later. And thats that.

It's not as simple as pre-ordained or not IMO. I believe that there are many paths that a person's life can take. Picture a map. The map for that specific person is pre-ordained, but the route that person will travel during his/her lifetime depends on their choices in life. Their starting point is pre-ordained, but their actions take them to a certain point on the map from where the next choice made by that person leads him/her down the resulting path, away from certain destinations and towards others.

The pre-determined thing is more of a philosophical statement and than a practical one. A: How can things be pre-determined if my actions are the ones which determine the outcome? B: Why did you take that action? It was pre-determined that you will take that action. That's why.

Well, what is exactly true, Karma or Bhagya ? When some bad guy dies its the former and a good guy its the latter, both kinds of people being relative :giggle:
