I don't want to keep quoting you guys and say, our bowlers are still the same what we played in 2008 against Australia when we won in 2008. There was Kumble, but that time he was done and over. He bowled with an average of 95 runs per wicket in 3 matches which he played out of 4. We won the series with bowlers - Ishant, Zaheer, Harbhajan, Mishra. These are the same bowlers playing here too in this series. Our bowling is just not good enough and consistent. Why don't you agree, then saying we were better before with some other folks.

^do you think they can sustain this type of bowling for long time. If they are not getting wickets, that frustrates heck out of the bowlers. Steyn is the danger man, he will ball 25 overs max in a day, rest I don't see a problem. as I said first hour is crucial.

If we save this test India and MS. Dhoni should be hailed hailed and just hailed along with that one inning or p'ship which would actually save us. If we lose, I would :hatsoff: to the India and Ms. Dhoni side for having a great run in test matches. A very UnIndian thing in test cricket they have achieved by not having lost for such a long period of time. Clearly a new era of Indian cricket is here. And off course we are winning 2nd test, so not that South Africa would or dream of going into ODI series having won test series. The trophy will be either shared or would be ours. TEAM INDIA - LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Come on guys, dont you see the writing on the wall yet? This match is gone, poyindi, pochu, gaya.. whichever language you wanna use. Their bowlers are just too good and our batting too inadequate for us to even think of mounting a challenge.

I stick by my prediction of 133 all out that I made in another thread, I'm afraid. I think they will run through us tomorrow morning. Yes I hope that Vijay scores some runs, SRT makes a big hundred, Dhoni also scores a few etc. but that is just the fan in me speaking, it ain't gonna happen. But yes, well done to Team India for their 14 game streak without losing before this game, and hopefully we can save the series in Kolkata.

Job well done guys. Selectors seriously effed this one up. If only we had a proper batsmen instead of Saha, it would have been a huge confidence booster if not anything else. If a Rohit or Virat would have survived Steyn's assault is different matter altogether.

It's cricket, anything can happen and stranger things have happened, but I certainly would not be betting even $ICF on India coming out of this one. If Tendulkar was batting well with Dravid and we had Laxman, Dhoni, and Ganguly in the bank there would have been a chance. As things stand, Tendulkar is playing atrociously and looks like getting out any time. Vijay's ability to go beyond the 40s and 50s is still not proven at the test level and we have Badrinath and Dhoni to follow. Oh, I forgot Saha. And even if Steyn does not get the copious swing he got in the first innings, our tail just does not look like will be able to stand up to him to make a meaningful contribution. I would be delighted if they can push the match into the fifth day.

Difference in this test is the bowling' date=' not necessarily the 7th non-batsman.[/quote'] True. One thing to note is that the Saffers had their own batting issues before this game - Prince and Duminy were in atrocious form all through the England series and they failed here as well. But the in form guys, Kallis and Amla, didn't let those frailties get exposed. On the other hand only one of the four experienced Indian batsmen (Gauti, Sachin, MSD and Veeru) turned up at all in the first innings, and Veeru most uncharacteristically threw his wicket away soon after getting to hundred. Usually he makes 150 if not 200. Yes, we ****ed up bad by having Saha play as a specialist bat, but it was really up to our experienced guys to do the business here. Of course Amla and Kallis were facing Ishant and Bhajan while our guys were facing Steyn and Morkel.

Regradless of poor bowling, Our batting wasn't great Yoda. Scoring 200 something a test match isn't good enough. Though it's understandable that we didn't have our main players playing, but still 200 some is not good enough in first innings of test cricket when other side on same wicket managed to scored nearly 600 runs.
