Wow, what an achievement! This is the equivalent of a test match 400! Fittingly this record now belongs to the player who has amassed the max runs in this format. He is the only one who deserves to hold this record. Well done Sachin!

Difficult to compare the two, but I'd say the 400 is easier to achieve as you usually don't have the problem of overs running out as they did today, or even maintaining a high scoring rate. In a test match you can dawdle along at your own pace. That makes a 200 in an ODI much more difficult in my opinion. You can see how it has affected guys in the past, Anwar, Gilchrist and Hayden, who all opened yet were still facing these problems. Tendulkar overcame them, great stuff.

I am glad that it's Sachin who's the very first one to reach 200 in ODIs. There isn't any other player more deserving than this guy when it comes to records and achievements. Salute to the lil' master. :hatsoff::hatsoff::hatsoff::hatsoff:

Well well i am really disappointed !! Not that Sachin broke the record , but 1. The record was one that stood for 12 Years . So it was indeed a milestone of utmost importance. We all know Records are meant to be broken but Good records always stand the test of time.This One surely did. 2 . I firmly believe that Saeed Anwars 194 (5 6's , 22 4's ) against India in 1997(Chennai) came at a time when such scores were not imagined possible.There was no T20 at that time so no one knew a way forward for such a score. 3.Thirdly that was the only 50+ Score by Pakistan seen in that match insuriatng the fact that it wasn't indeed a placid pitch as the one that turned out for Sachin 200 (3 6's , 25 4's ) in Gwalior and 2 more half centuries at a strike rate better than 100 by Dhoni (68)And Karthik(79) .

I am not trying to say which one is superior but i am just saying that Anwar making 194 ,12 years ago when batsmen did not have strike rates above 100 is a better milestone then Sachin making 200 in a match much influenced by the T20 style on a flaccid pitch. Same way i wasnt amazed at Mathew Hayden , breaking Laras record of 400 in tests simply because it came against a much inferior opposition( Zimbabwe) . And although Lara proved his worth doing it 2nd time against England .I am Afraid Saeed Anwar is no more around in the cricketing world. Well good luck to Tendulker though but i do believe that Subcontinent Boards must really start looking in to the level of the pitches they are curating otherwise we will never ever produce batsmen of such quality again .

Sarcasm detector phir ghar bhool aaya ? :hitler: One reason why I firmly believe Maulvi's 194 was better than SRT's 200 is because Maulvi mia not only missed Maghrib, Isha prayers (Allah maaf kare) but he amassed runs during the month of May when the temperatures are soaring high which makes batting a near impossible task let aside batting for long time.
