I agree.. he could have taken Sachin's place in the team for T20s .. I would trust Uthappa over Rohit anyday

Uthappa.....Karthik are very much needed. Rohit can also be used but nobody trusts him like Deccan do. If rohit is given responsibility he can build a innings and score comfortably. End of the day too many ego clashes will ruin the team for WC.

ajit agarkar was included in our first few games, and was hammered around joginder sharma was the other medium pacer on bench he did comparatively well, kept it simple in fact performed magnificently against AUS in the semis talking about dhoni, he has been making strange decisions on the feild, and his rotation of bowlers has been pathetic sometimes, it seems he has no clue whien to use which bowler :hysterical:the selectors:haha::haha: if their policy is to pick players out of form, or the ones who cannot deliver at the international stage, they definately have done an excellent job

Dhoni won the t20 would cup purely because of stubborness and this is something which every captain must have, if a captain starts listening to others, he is nothing then. Next, who do you think the selectors should have selected? Panday, Tiwary or Even Murali. First two of them are openers so definately would not be needed and regarding tiwary, he has only played well this IPL and IPL alone cannot be the basics for selection

The squad was selected 2 weeks ago and at that time, these were really the best players. Moreover, Chawla is a young player and has performanced well for India.

chawla has played 48 t20 games and has taken just 48 wickets at a econ rate of 7.6.just compare that with mishra's stats and you will see the difference.chawla is way too expensive to be any good in t20s.

This Indian team is full of players who take time to consolidate probably with an exception of Raina, Viru and Yuppo.Yuppo is a lottery. India will run into situations where they will be wasting 2 overs for every batsman to settle down.

Reasonable picks, but we should have picked Manish Pandey instead of Gambhir, Murali Karthik instead of Chawla, Irfan ahead of Nehra and someone else (Kohli, Uthappa) instead of Rohit. And guys like Gambhir, Bhajji and (maybe) Yuvraj should take Sachin's lead and slowly distance themselves from the international T20 game. Vinay deserves a spot for the sheer commitment and hardwork he has put in during the last 2 FC seasons. The weird part is, this is essentially the same batting order that lost us the previous T20 WC and yet they have retained it without making a single change, which is quite bizzare. We need some young, fresh blood like Pandey to infuse some life into our flagging batting line-up in T20.

I am just seeing this. Curious but why do you not seem to rate Gambhir highly in this form of the game? I agree that Pandey must be invested in. But maybe not with T20 to start with, perhaps? ODIs to see what he is made of and then he can always adjust to T20's? The other thing is that there is simply no room up top right now for an Indian batsman. Sehwag, Gambhir and Murali Vijay stand tall - literally and figuratively. Pandey has to find another way to get in.

What are you trying to say? Remember the selectors had to choose the team long time b4.And imo, we have selected the best team. And more importantly, I am very confident we can do well as according to history when we have expected a lot from our team( last world cup for example), we have failed miserably.

Vinay and Praveen kumar have similar pace- high 120s and low 130s. So if Praveen is successful, even Vinay can be. He has done well in IPL. Let us give a chance and see. Don't expect 140s and 150 k/hr from Indian bowler. We have to make best use of what is available.

i have no confidence with this team...... nehra was injured n always injury prone.... this team has already been sorted out with bouncers... Yusuf, Raina - bouncer suckers Rohit - hit n miss Nehra-any time will get injured.... Jadeja - no match practise..... lets hope for the best.....
