I doubt India will ever be a developed country.

Blood sucking attitude will keep us third world country for many years to come. Every single thing that I see around, indviduals involved just think that this is their chance to make money. Unless our mentality changes, it will be impossible to expect that kind of progress. From Ricksawala to PM all are opportunist....beuracrats, politcians, and the whole system is tuned up in the corruption culture. We should be happy to be where we are...

Just to make it clear, being a 3rd world country means that you are neither alligned to the first world (capatalism and/or NATO) nor to Second World (Former USSR). Many of the countries of the 3rd world happen to be poor so many use the term 3rd world to describe poor or developing countries but technically 3rd world is not the correct term to describe that. Probably, the term has also lost its meaning after the collapse of former USSR and the end of cold war 'developing' and 'developed' are the proper terms

We get indipendence at 1947' date='but still developing country.what we need first to become developed.electicity,education,roads.[/quote'] we need to improve our work ethics....it is not just for government bt for every Indian..we are lazy......we make goals and then leave them for eternity we dnt try to achieve them as quickly as possibly...we just wait for things to happen...we dnt make things happen....u can take the example of common wealth games..we do fast and hard whn we had our backs to the wall.....aur koi option he na bacha ho..

Unless the common man in India develops a sense of civic responsibility and some basic ethics, progressing as a nation is going to take an awfully long time. No point blaming the "system" or "politics" as these are things determined by the common man. He has the power to change the system or vote out the corrupt politicians. Why keep recycling the same Cong/BJP/3rd front garbage when you can vote them out using "no vote" option?!? Education has a major role to play here too. But what's disconcerting to see is, even the so called educated folks too dont seem to care. God save us!

we need abundant fresh water to become a developed nation. its no secret that all developed nations today have an abundance of this resource. after all our bodies are 70% H-to-O.
