Those who dont/cant get jobs accept it as they feel theyre course of action is better than any worldy jobs they they would have got if they handnt been covered. So they do choose to live that way and maybe they are fundamentally different in that one respect. Im not sure why that should spell 'doom'- not least because these people are a minority even amongst muslim women : they believe that they are following the guidance the way it should be followed so actually they do want to be be it. Also because people are different for so many different reasons the world over, dosent mean were all doomed!

This will back fire and create much more rift between Islam and the West. One civilization should not enforce its customs on another. That creates a volatile atmosphere filled with conflicts.

Enforce western culture ? Are you justifying any violence that could occur using this law as an excuse ? I hope not .. Next thing, do not enforce english/french/german plz, its western culture, we want all documents in arabic/spanish/mandarin/hindi. How about the hardcore religious types stick to their own land if they have such a problem with western civilization ?

My opinion is that Bin Laden and his men would use this to justify violence on westerners. On a related note, your liberals have been aiding and abetting immigration under the name "Multi culturalism". If you can vote these people out and raise the birth rate to replacement levels, there would be no NEED of immigration.
punjabiplaya Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 The english peoples view is that when we are in your country we do as the lands customs require, i.e not generally wearing revealing clothes or drinking in public or being overly affectionate,any lapses are dealt with severely,in the uk the general concensus is that if you want to live in our country which by the way is the most tolerant,you need to show some respect to the way we also live in our CHRISTIAN country, wearing the burqa isnt a requirement of a muslim women,but many people feel uncomfortable and even frightened by the woman in the burqa,women in the uk by and large find it demeaning and not acceptable,i know lots of muslim girls they all feel similar,one of my pakisatani gf years ago her father tried to force her to wear a burqa,she said show me where it says anywhere i have to wear one?he relented,its mainly the immigrants of wives of immigrants who seem to be wearing them and causing concern amongst many...... im afraid as has been stated if living in european countries and the people dont like them,then you should adhere to this,if you cant go back to saudi arabia or a muslim country where its acceptable!!

Your argument would hold water if, and only if, a Muslim girl was provided oppertunity to decide her life(pick what kind of education she wants to have, what kind of job she wants to undertake, where she wants to work etc). What happens more often than not is she is severly restricted in all of this. Heck she is not allowed to wear as per her choice how is she going to be allowed to pick a job(specially one that she needs to go out, intermingle with male populace and work on her own)? No wonder most of thse women never see the lights of the day(or office) and any surprises then that they end up covering themselves?? For sake of clarity, it is one thing for an American convert to dress from head to toe. She has had ample oppertunities and in the end she made up her mind. No problems with that. Me and you, the male population isnt doomed but Muslim female populace...well you can say that again. We were talking of jobs sometime back, can you tell me how many female Muslims have made it to the top in Business World? Considering Muslims make for 1.5 billion thats roughly 750 million number right there(considering half of the population is women). How about sports? How many female sportsmen do you see coming from Muslim countries? Forget subcontinent even countries of Middle East that spend zillions on athletes have not had a top Muslim female athlete. The reasons obviously are not lack of resources, it is lack of oppertunity clearly. That all said my ire has always been less towards Muslim men, and Islam even. In the end if Muslim women choose to be subjugated thats their wish. Their battle wont be fought by a Hindu man, it has to be fought by them. xxx

I'm not a big fan on classifying everyone into two groups i.e. Conservatives & Liberals. I'm sure its ok to agree on some topics with one side and disagree on others. Anyhow, low birth rates are not that bad an issue. The countries facing that would still have some levels of unemployment. If the available workforce cannot fulfill the requirements of the economy, they certainly have a choice among a vast pool of foreigners seeking residency/citizenship. Most countries are tightening the norms these days in terms of language proficiency and skill set among other things.

They need to understand not every country is Islamic. Any decision taken by other community is taken as anti muslim by them but they themselves make laws for other communities in their countries.

I am not a religious person but I still know that face covering is nowhere advised in the Quran and I am sure about that

I want to pratice Nudism and form a religion called Nudetechology. There are no restrictions -- except -- you should never touch clothes. Let us all follow it. This is not a joke BTW -- Rajneesh did it and we all know what happened. Hey it is my culture , let me roam around naked. Don't enforce your friggin culture on me!
