Desi Cartman Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Casino Jack - nice, fast paced but screenplay and direction could have been better Oliver Twist (2005 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0380599/) - first my confession, I have never read the book. The movie was great, well directed and some of the scenes where Oliver was getting ill-treated were hard to watch.

DomainK Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Watched Jolly LLB. A good comedy and and and a realistic portrayal of lawyers, judges, the legal system and it's functioning. The director got carried away a bit in some parts and has ended up in tasteless exaggerations. Again, directors, producers and financiers need to show more confidence in the plot and their own abilities and do away with songs when not necessary. Just like Special 26, songs are not only unnecessary in this movie, but they do more harm than good. Good acting by Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani, but the show stealer for me is Saurabh Shukla in the role of a lower court judge. He is brilliant in every scene. What an actor. Very under-rated.

CG Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Watched 'Special 26'.loved it.all performances are good n story moves at a fast pace.One doubt though how did they believe so easily that Jimmy Shergill was an actual cop?surely they should have checked his records n all?:hmmm: Its a plot hole,Also Why would the cop stay back and broke the news that it was a false raid to the minister where as all of them would have easily gone and minister would have not unknown the raid was fake for few days.I would have the cop to be real cop but a friend of the gang or the cop got humiliated even though he got a corrupt politician so he joined the gang.

Sooda Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 I watched Oz The Great and Powerful last night in IMAX. Not sure if it was quite worth an IMAX 3D ticket, but it was not bad , fun family film. Genuinely funny in parts, looked amazing with the effetcs and CGI which is the best thing about it. Not sure about James Franco in the lead though... 6/10 maybe

NareshK Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Sliding Doors - fairly entertaining rom com. It has an interesting, fantasy element to it. Gwyneth Paltrow's character loses her job at the beginning of the story, then on her way back home she misses her train. This is where the story splits into two timelines - one where she gets on the train and the other where she misses the train. The character who gets on the train, reaches home to find her boy friend sleeping with someone else. The other character tries to get a cab, gets mugged, reaches later and doesnt know about the affair. The rest of the story is about the journey of these two characters who are different versions of the same person and what happens in their lives. Acting is decent. Overall, movie is not too bad.
