No Avengers is more fun oriented and too many charechters, this is not like it. More like Batman, but not that great.
:agree:
Usual saving the damsel in distress scenes are there :winky:
The best example is the Raimi's Spiderman triology, which has painfully same storyline.
Downy Jr. as Ironman >>>>>>>>>>> Christian Bale as Batman. If Downy's Iron Man stayed in Gotham, it would have been a fun place.
:WTF: Downy is a single method actor, who cannot act in any other roles. He is lucky to get a couple of big franchises. If you watch Sherlock Holmes. You might feel like "what's Tony Stark doing here?? ". Even in Tropic Thunder, it's Ben Stiller who saved him. Just watch Bale in American Psycho, Equilibrium and The Prestige.
Correction.. Downy Jr. as Tony Starc > Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne. Iron Man is no way close to the league of Batman. Bet it comic, movies or TV series.
Iron Man is the Twilight of super hero movies. Just got big in the hype machine.

 Nobody is comparing acting skills of the two actors.

The first Downey Jr. movie I saw was Sherlock Holmes and thought he was amazing. Maybe he lacks variety but he does have charisma. :two_thumbs_up:

Yup. Before him, my fav Holmes was Jeremy Bretts: Brett.jpg Downy Jr. was, however, superb as Holmes. He managed to look intelligent and arrogant and at the same time, brought so much more charisma to the character. I also liked Jude Law as Watson, a much misunderstood character IMO. At that time, I thought no one could do Holmes better than Downy Jr. But then came Benedict Cumberbatch in BBC's new version of modern Holmes. He is now my most favorite Holmes. star-benedict-cumberbatch.jpg

Never watched Bretts, so can't really comment on that. But Cumberbatch was awesome and loved his version of Sherlock too. I frankly don't bother comparing Cumberbatch and Downey Jr's characters, both were great in their own ways. :two_thumbs_up:
