Debutant Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Watched Gravity. Can't understand what was the great hype all about. Its a good movie but nothing extraordinary. Probably my expectations were too high.

Filming a zero gravity sequence down here on earth is extremely difficult. Imagine, they weren't actually floating in space, but standing on ladders and boxes pretenting to float around. Can't just think how hard the entire film crew has to work for it. And they manage to deliver a thrilling screenplay with top notch acting. Not in a single scene I felt that it wasn't shot on actual space. Really a huge milestone. :hatsoff: Another movie that has a zero gravity sequence is Apollo 13. Although it's short, it was shot in actual zero gravity. It was filmed on NASA's KC-135 plane aka "Vomit Comet" :cantstop:. If the plane flies very fast in a wave like motion, the passengers will get a short window of zero gravity for a minute or so. Yeah, they spent a month flying on that place to shoot that sequence. Is there any pilots in ICF? Can u pls inquire whether it's allowed for civilians to fly in that plane?
