World Cup 2011 is in India and so it should not be a problem on Indian pitches .. the only wary for us would be Australia as they have defeated us just a few months ago in India itself .. and their team is only growing stronger with time and it is a lot more stronger compared to the one which played in India

sri lanka and south africa are jokezzz india smashed both of them at home. no contest. england arent any better, india beat them 5-0. the only challenge comes from australia. they always play well in india.

yes the key word is 'at home'. i can't see india ever winning outside the sub continent with the indian players not being able to handle balls higher than their knee. india have a chance in the 11 world cup purely because it is being held in india.

i don't know.. the world cup in 96 was won by sri lanka. champions trophy was won by the windies (?)...other teams do okay in india and abroad. even sri lanka who are atrocious travelling still got to the finals in 07 and in 09.. maybe the team can't handle pressure.

lets nip this in the bud,unless we have a miraculous turnaround where our bowling improves dramatically,the chances of us making even the semis in 2011 are very remote.we have ignored limited overs bowling(especially under kirsten)even though it has been a problem even before he arrived here.the indiscipline,the lack of any planning is just atrocious .one bad to mediocre batting performance is all it takes to knock us off in a tournament we will see similar results in other tournaments as well,this bowling unit is laughable at best,their inability to strike early in the powerplay overs and atrocious death bowling will mean no more tournaments wins in the near future .i suggest t20 and odi fans start watching test matches,atleast there we will just grind the opposition into the ground.

thats strange because i can remember india: - reaching the final of 2003 world cup played in SOUTH AFRICA - winning the 2002 natwest series in ENGLAND - winning the 2008 CB series in AUSTRALIA - winning the 2007 t20 world cup in SOUTH AFRICA i won't even talk about their away record in tests. Indian batsmen failings against the short ball has been completely blown OUT OF PROPORTION. yes, they aren't the best at playing horizontal bat shots but they aren't that bad either. the problem is that in t20, you can't afford to play yourself in - especially when chasing a RRR of 10 an over. That's why indian batsmen throw their wickets away to stupid shots against the short deliveries. In ODIs a guy like Gambhir or a Raina could just avoid the short balls and score off anything else. so yes, the short bal is a fantastic weapon to use against india in t20 -given that the team's strength is entirely their batting. but in other forms of the game, the short ball will not have a significant impact. if that was the case, india wouldn't have had all those successes away from home in the last decade.

i couldnt care less about a lack of a 140k bowler.i will take brains,guile and preparation over express speed anyday.
