The Outsider Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Everyone sucked except Rohit, Raina, and to some extent Harbhajan and Nehra.
vvvslaxman Posted May 11, 2010 Author Posted May 11, 2010 Teams that have aggressive openers have done well. Lumb, Mahela, Watson, Warner, Kieswetter.. That is where we have faltered big time. Without Viru we are powerless in the opening overs.

Sachinism Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 rock stars - thats what Paki's say to mock India :finger:
vvvslaxman Posted May 11, 2010 Author Posted May 11, 2010 Viru cannot have changed the outcome, would have been the same. All Hail IPL and 20-20 :giggle: But that fear factor will be there .:winky: Even if he had clicked in one match India could have won. We were bowled out in 17 overs in a T20 game. That would have never happened.
kabira Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 ^ oh they tried. in last wc LOL Our strategy was wrong. thats where we lost it. Packing team with 8 batsman and 3 bowlers is recipe for disaster when the 3 bowlers that you have suck too.

He struggled on a bouncy wicket. But he did well to come back in the next match. But none of others bar Rohit in a match helped him.

Manny_Pacquiao Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 i posted this in the ipl thread but its relevant to this topic also: you know wht the funny thing is ???????? all the players that did well in the ipl didnt even make to the indian squad. i mean whats the point of having domestic t20 competition if you aren't going to use it as selection criteria for the t20 world cup. what PURPOSE does ipl serve? all the top indian batsmen in this ipl were guys that didnt make the squad - uthappa, rayudu, ganguly, tiwary. why not pick them all the top bowlers were ojha, irfan, mishra, ashwin, none of them made it. ridiculous. they picked jadeja instead. well done indian selectors and well done indian public for accepting this IPL serves no purpose except making money and bringing cheap publicity to ballywood hijdas before they release their next flop films.
imran666 Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 only R jadeja can save indian cricket ..best depth bowler ever in history in my book :haha:
cowboysfan Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 where were the people who were arguing in favour of murali vijay after he hit a hundred on the flattest pitch in the world?.now even his test credentials will be called into question because of his perceived problems against the short ball.there was absolutely reason for his selection. Cheeka has been a mega failure as a selector.he lost us a test match against the saffers and the squad for the world cup was completely screwed up.time to let him go .
veer Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 it was disappointing to hear Dhoni's post-match statement on IPL affects.. he said it didnt affect.. all were fresh and no one was carring injury.. Praveen kumar was carring injury and it was blatantly obvious that IPL affected this.. common captain be honest here...

Pak_Forever Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Dhoni's captaincy was sometimes questionable, but he shouldn't be held accountable for the rest of the team. Most of the batsmen failed to perform and bowlers barely had a good day other than Bhajji, so Dhoni ain't the sole culprit.
TheWall Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Its not just Dhoni, the entire team is responsible for this dismal show
