Pujara must be picked against Australia/NZ/whoever we play next after Sri Lanka.

After some very consistent first class outings at home, I'm really impressed by his level of consistency in both the long and short forms recently in the England A tour. He and Abhinav Mukund have been the top batsmen of the tour (Rahane has been disappointingly inconsistent), and Pujara's run of good scores and hunger for runs against some very good bowlers (and the odd purveyors of rubbish like Sajid Mahmood) has been fantastic. In the f/c games: 55* 44 15 208* In the one day tri-series: 0 off 3 122* off 117 31 off 51 73 off 91 114 off 90 27 off 27 87 off 89 Really, really impressive. As much of a Rahane fanboy as I am, Pujara really deserves to be the next in line for the test squad if and when a space opens up.

Cannot really argue with those numbers, definately merits a call up to the side. Hope he takes this form into the senior team

what about Dhoni's pet Rohit?.he will get a chance before kohli or pujara.they should play him in a tour game and see how he performs against a test bowling lineup.

He should and probably would be played in the tour matches when Australia and New Zealand tour. For the moment he would be behind Rohit, Raina and Kohli, who have scored runs against international level attacks with Rohit and Kohli having a century against Johnson, Clark, Lee, and Siddle. A strong showing there and in the Irani trophy match can certainly put him right in the limelight.

Rohit, Raina are good players but it makes sense to pick a guy who is in the kind of form Pujara is currently in. What makes him such an exciting prospect is his ability to play long, productive innings. He has put up some massive scores for Saurashtra, which takes some doing when you look at some of the mediocrity he has to play alongside. His inclusion for the next test series is probably just wishful thinking on my part. They will go for the 'tried and tested' Rohit or Kohli, etc. But at least india's batting reserves look really strong with Rohit, Kohli, Raina, Vijay, Pujara, Rahane, Mukund. Manish Pandey is another great talent. Batted too low in this tour to make a real impact, but he is a really aggressive batsman who can get big runs in quick time. In addition to that, we got guys like Yuvraj, Badri, Jaffer who could probably walk into other sides, even though they aren't good enough to play for India.
