Munaf is in. Irfan must have negligible creditability in the books of the selectors. Things really can't be as bad as this for him. He needs to step up and deliver in the Ranji's. Munaf has a wonderful chance to give the selectors a problem of plenty and a welcome headache.

Mithun & Jaidev are shock selections. While Mithun can atleast be considered a decent pick thanks to a wonderful season, Jaidev might go down the Irfan Pathan route, sooner than we know. They are rushing him way too fast. Some members on ICF have referred to his selection as a desperate measure. There has been quite a poor development of bench-strength under Cheeka's reign.

We have seen what he's capable of in the U19 World Cup & the A-tour to England itself. My problem is rushing him in way too fast. One bad series, and you will forget him for atleast a couple of years. That is not fair to him or his ability.

i think its try to groom the youngsters,its amazing that we are no 1 and cannot scrounge up 2 test quality medium pacers.I think we need to throw the young ones into the fire and evaluate the results.

Let's not forget his lack of fight. If the conditions and situation is in his favour, Munaf is dangerous. Make him work, get him tired and have him bowl with the scoreboard reading 250/2, and it's like having Steve Waugh bowl with a higher trajectory. Regardless of what crap some people give Sreesanth, one thing is undeniable - he has fight, and would run in with the same heart and effort if it was 24/4, or 400/3. All's good.... I take a break every now and then. This was the soccer world cup break and there hasn't been many test matches NZ or India are playing in. Looking forward to the Aus v Pak one though.
