Crapinfo at it again. Punter intentionally hit Asif. In Amer's incident, I blame Amer more as he needs to stay away from batsmen area once he gets them. Running into them will obviously result in collisions.

The ugly incident took place as ICC referee Broad visited the Pakistani dressing room on Tuesday evening to reprimand fast bowler Mohammad Aamer following his altercation with Australia skipper Ponting on the first day of the opening Test. A robust exchange ensued, with allegations that a member of the Pakistani camp swore at Broad as he left the dressing room. There are also allegations of a racial slur aimed at the former England Test opener, but this was denied by Broad last night. Fury: Ponting thrusts an elbow towards Aamer as the bowler celebrates in his follow-through It is understood it would be normal for the Pakistan captain, Shahid Afridi, to be present if the umpire was talking to one of his players. However, Broad last night denied this was the case. Broad’s stance infuriated the Pakistanis, who felt Ponting was the aggressor when he appeared to elbow the 18-year-old after Aamer had dismissed him for 26. And although the Pakistan Cricket Board have insisted the matter was closed, the row revives bitter memories of the tourists’ last visit to this country in 2006. On that occasion, Inzamam-ul-Haq’s men forfeited the fourth Test at The Brit Oval after the captain refused to lead his players out on to the field after tea on the fourth day following allegations of ball-tampering by umpires Darrell Hair and Billy Doctrove. Pakistan will play four Tests against England, starting later this month at Trent Bridge, and the hope is that their frustrations with officialdom here do not spill over into further trouble. Broad explained his decision to warn Aamer over his future conduct by citing a similar incident in the Twenty20 game at Edgbaston last week, when the teenager bumped into Australia vice-captain Michael Clarke during another wicket-taking celebration. ‘I told him that when he takes a wicket, he should celebrate with his team-mates rather than getting himself into the personal space of the outgoing batsman,’ said Broad. ‘It’s a spirit of cricket issue.’ But Pakistan’s sense of grievance at their treatment will not have been helped by the identity of the match referee in this game. Broad, who is the father of England fast bowler Stuart, has handed out punishments of one kind or another on nine occasions to Pakistanis during his seven years as an ICC official. I have no problems with the warnings given to Aamer. But Ponting should have received some fine in the least. That out stretched elbow can not be ignored. And yes, Broad is partial.

there is big problem with ICC match referees, all white guys are totally biased with Broad leading the pack will not do anything to aussie players and Poms and all Asian guys (all of them have some inferiority complex) have no guts to do anything either. Have we ever seen any pommie or Aussie getting suspended.No you cant blame Ponting no one has dared to do anything to him and his teammates ,so they do as they please.

My views are about Broad racial bias not ponting's reaction.Ofcourse it is my opinion and it concurs with Pakistan's team and many others.

I agree Broad is a certified racist! These decisions On Ponting and Aamer have to be viewed through this fact.

Broad has a history of questionable refeering, but I think this whole Aamer-Ponting issue was handled just right. When a bowler is running directly towards you at a brisk pace, of course there’s going to a reaction from the batsmen. What do you expect Ponting to do, just stand back and hope Aamer evades him? Some batsmen might have swayed away, Ponting probably raised his arm to brace himself for the impact. But the important part is, there was no explicit malicious intent from either side. No one way trying to hurt the other. When the adrenalin is pumping and players are excitied, things happen on the field. There is no need to go on a punishing rampage when it is quite clear that no party intended to cause any bodiliy harm. Was Aamer right in running directly at Ponting? No. Was Ponting right in raising his right elbow in a rather suspicious manner? No. But Aamer instigated the whole thing, which was probably why he was warned. By the way, why is Chris Broad still allowed to referee in matches involving asian teams, given the history of confrontation he has with us? The ICC will probably swear that despite all the allegations, Broad has been impartial and has done things by the book, but why invite trouble and unnecessary attention by having such controversial appointments? Don’t they know that, given Broad’s history, even reasonably justifiable decisions like these will come under a cloud? The whole situation is baffling.

Why has Chris Broad never ever 'spoken' to Ponting for any of his behaviours? Ponting was not only elbowing in this case, he 'mouthed off' while leaving. The umpires too are baised and don't give proper feedback to the match refree. Billy Bowden is one of the prime examples.. The fact is that Broad has been a long time Beer buddy of Ponting and most of the Aussie players and hence doens't find anything wrong in their on-field behaviour...

lol GG ran into watson to deliberately elbow him while here some idiot bowler came running towards potning and all he did was move his elbow for his own safety. No one has given me a satisfactory answer yet to how would have ponting known that Aamer would take a 90* degree turn when he was 2 inches away ? Also from the video its clear that they were so close that had ponting not moved his elbow, Aamer's elbow would have hit potining. Hating a player and a referee is one thing but its stupid to blindly ignore the fact that a 6.5 feet tall human was running towards a player and would have made a physical contact ( even if not , he was threatening to ).

I hate ponting but feel that his act was intuitive in self defense where he did not extend his elbow outside his body. Mohd Aamer and some other not so clever bowlers who try to bring their celebration too close to the departing batsman need a kick in the butt as well. What Business Aamer had about going so close to Ponting in the first place. This idiot had pulled this trick on Tendulkar (may be after dismissing him in CT) but didn't get physical. I mean he is not a bull to run towards the batsman like that in the first place. Broad let him off easy but that doesn't take away from the fact that broad is a certified racist pig. Ponting is sure learning from German coach in manners of and dealing with nose picking. :)
