Kanyakumari tour i too wish suresh raina to be in second test as he performing too good in all before matches.he has consistency in his batting line up and having a average score in all matches.he is an aggressive player too. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm not a fan of players being dropped after being forced to sit out a game through injury just because the replacement did well.
I agree. Infact the whole passage has been a little strange in recent times. Yuvi was practicing/workig out at the NCA for a couple of weeks and after that he got omitted from the Asia Cup. So he played in a few domestic (ODI) matches and did well. Then he made a century in the warmup game in SL and looked in good nick in the first innings of the first test where he got a half century. Then he got sick/injured and missed the second test. And now out of the squad for the third test. Hardly any consistency in the process and Yuvi should've played the 3rd Test even though I'm a fan of Raina for a long time.

That's the way the cookie crumbles. The Indian team has already suffered a lot in trying to fit Yuvraj in the line up over the past years. The onus is strictly on him now to deliver. Too much has been invested, too many matches have been lost, and too many other batsmen have had to suffer to have His Highness in the team at any cost on numerous occasions : 1. After Yuvraj scored a century at Lahore in the absence of Ganguly, Chopra was dropped for the next match to accommodate Yuvraj when Ganguly came back at Rawalpindi. Chopra had been doing a decent job as an opener till the, but faced immediate axe. Parthiv Patel was made to double up as keeper and opener. Result - continuous failures by Yuvraj and Chopra losing his spot in the squad. 2. Sir jee again made a comeback next year against Zimbabwe as Tendulkar was out and failed there. But he continued to be in the team in the home series against Sri Lanka because Ganguly was dropped after Zimbabwe. Sir Jee was deemed so crucial to the team that when Ganguly played the Karachi test, Dravid had to open to accommodate His Royal Ass. After he scored a meaningless century there, Sir Jee's stocks rose even higher. 3. When India decided to play 5 bowlers at Mohali and Bombay against England, His Royalty was retained in the side and Laxman was dropped. Yes, the same Laxman who was an established feature in the line up. All because Sir Jee had made a century in a lost cause at Karachi after being dropped 5 times. Result - More continuous failures against England and then in the West Indies. 4. Mr. Poster Boy then played at Bangalore because Tendulkar was injured and scored a century. The entire batting line up resembled shambles so that Poster Boy could play in Australia. Sehwag was not played, Dravid was made to open, Laxman was made to play at one down. How did Sir Jee repay the trust entrusted by the team? By scoring in single digits and playing his role in the first two losses of the series. As soon as Sehwag was brought back, Dravid and Laxman restored to their normal positions we got Perth and Adelaide. I don't want to dig up old threads at the moment, but I can distinctly remember having arguments with fan boys of Poster Boy before the Australian tour and how it was an asinine move to disturb the entire balance of the side for an unproven number 6 batsman. Indian cricket has done a lot to accommodate Yuvraj. India has lost matches for investing in his Royal Ass. Class and proven batsmen like Dravid and Laxman have had to be dropped or play out of position so that Sir Jee can play test cricket. Enough is enough. No more spoon feeding of this primadonna. He wants to play test cricket, he has to do more than his competition is doing, else be the waterboy. Numbers don't lie. An average of 35 after 35 tests are numbers of an ordinary batsman and that is how he should be treated.

that sums things up pretty well. blame goes to guys like chappell and later, kumble, for having such unshakable faith in him. yuvraj promises a lot, but has never really delivered. he is good enough to be a back-up but nothing more. so iam glad that the team stuck with raina this time.

Bye Bye yuvi. Its rainas time now. Looked quality and does match winning knock. Adds a whole new dimension to middle order with his positivity. A lot to prove still but looks good. Sharma should be next in line now as well. He is class as well

he almost gave me heart attack with the way he started against Malinga.but very good knock.i still have doubts over him though as for Yuvi, its over.concentrate on being a great ODI player, its better than being mediocre in both formats
