Don't know about the fielding. But one thing is for sure, Pakistani team just weren't good enough to chase 150 odd. Thats a fact and we shouldn't think beyond that. Aus bowled their heart out and punter and his bowlers put real pressure on them that they couldn't chase it down.

Australia were 8/258 in the 2nd Innings 9th wicket fell at 380. 122 runs between Siddle & Hussey. That was where the match was lost. Had Khatmal taken Hussey atleast once, Pakistan would not have chased anaything more than 50.

Pakistan board had its doubts PAKISTAN officials were warned before their team's ill-fated series against England that half of their squad had links to illegal bookmakers. The claims, made by former Pakistan Cricket Board chairman General Tauqir Zia, will be aired on tonight's edition of Four Corners (8.30pm, ABC1) as part of an investigation into match fixing. Zia said the PCB, of which he was chairman from 1999-2003, was told before the team played against Australia and England in England in July and August that the International Cricket Council had noticed irregularities in the SMS accounts of six or seven players. "They were warned," Zia said. "The Pakistan Cricket Board should have been very careful. The Pakistan management, the manager, and everybody should have been careful. "I have been told...that six, seven players they ought to be careful because they (the ICC) have seen their connections or read their SMS's." Three members of the Pakistan team - Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir - have been suspended following a sting by London's News Of The World paper in which agent Mazhar Majeed allegedly arranged for the trio to accept money for spot-fixing in the Lord's Test against England. During his time at the helm of Pakistan cricket Zia was approached to select a player who allegedly rigged games. "I was a serving army officer and there's a gentleman who rings me up and said "so and so should be included in the team because he fixes matches and we get money. "So I said you are threatening a man in uniform...you go to hell and that man is not going to be put in the team. And he never was included in the side." Ijaz Butt, the 72-year-old chairman of Pakistan cricket, is heavily criticised in the program by former Pakistan coach Geoff Lawson who said it was a "great shock" that Butt was given the job. "There was lots of speculation who would get the job. Ijaz Butt was not one who was mentioned because people just thought that would be too ridiculous," Lawson said. "He had been on the board on a committee I had attended and I thought "here is a senile old duffer." I had to restrain myself from laughing at committee meetings at which he spoke. So I just discounted him completely." The International Cricket Council has requested all players sign an anti-corruption declaration as part of an attempt to ensure the game's integrity. Majeed said that 7 players were under his pocket to fix games although the NOTW sting could uncover only 3 players. Unfortunately, since no evidence is public against the remaining 4, nothing could be done by ICC. Pak will continue to have match fixers in their team even if ICC bans some players.
