Things to learn from a "conservative" desi, who has apparently experienced and learned a lot in his 2 years of stay in US. 1). If a republican governor/politician doesn't suit his views, that guy is termed RINO:republican in name only (Romney,Schwaznegger etc). 2). Spouting out random numbers from a quickly googled SINGLE NYTimes (?) article about failure of MA universal healthcare law is a great debate victory. 3). Because his own healthcare rate went up (although he falls in the self-payee bracket with middle class income) => common man has suffered by MA healthcare plan. 4). Newt Gingrich is the lord and savior...and the following movie deserves an oscanr and a Nobel dPBv1tZhd-E&feature=player_embedded

Patriot_N, I told you dude, you’re fooling no one with your ‘Fox News’ talking points.. I mean FFS, if you’re going to debate liberals on healthcare, at least come up with original arguments. Till now, the only thing you shown yourselves to be good at is to watch a lot of Fox news and memorize their talking points. Other than that, all the other broad-brush ‘If it didn’t work for MA, why would it work for USA..’ sort of rhetorical questions aint gonna win you any brownie points.

Nope, mahealthconnector.org, boston globe and nytimes... If these sources are inaccurate or biased in favoring conservative views, do post so... :winky:

So I presume you didn read the post where I mentioned that for ANY individual making $32000, healthcare expense is now about $9500... Now if you think its reasonable, :giggle: Also, think about this. State's expense has nearly doubled... Premium rates have increased by 8-10% PER YEAR... Now you tell me, is it a success?!

Honestly, I think Newt is the savior?! If you want to hallucinate, its up to you man, but dont attribute them to me... :eyedance:

Brownie points or ICF runs mean nothing MM. For all/any of my points/questions, somehow, the answers from liberals never come forth... :((

You have lost all credibility with the tea-party style rhetorical debate based on cherry picking of your own facts that suit you and ignoring the other that don’t.

I dont see any other stat/figure coming forth from any one of you guys supporting your view... Nothing but personal opinions... And opinions are like arseholes, everybody's got one... :giggle: And seriously, me a conservative - Ive lost credibility in the eyes of a liberal? :omg: I guess Nov will show if the ppl have lost credibility with the Dems... Unless of course you believe that a majority of the country is being "willfully disingenuous" :winky:

Go look up the annual per capita cost of healthcare in all developed nations. You can also look up the annual per capita cost of healthcare in all developed nations with some form of public healthcare. Subtract list 2 from list 1 and you are left with the United States of America. Then there's data from all the countries as to how many citizens are satisfied with their current healthcare system. If you're going to compare MA vs rest of country, lets compare USA vs other countries as well. I know, public healthcare is not the direct answer, but i'm explaining how shallow your argument is.

Clarke, Im not arguing that the US healthcare system is working. It is broking and needs reform, but my argument is just that Obamacare is not the solution becuase it simply cannot do what it claims it can...

The main problem (apart from the whole libertarian 'Govt. is shoving the insurance down our throats' crap) is basically that the two sides cannot agree on the cost estimates of Obamacare. Supporters argue it will reduce overall cost by having everyone paying into it (everyone except the very poor who will get it for free), while the opponents claim that the expenses will rise and the whole thing will eventually become untenable.

Not really. Now, you may ditch your health insurance coverage. Pay the fine each year (it is cheaper than having health insurance). When you fall horribly sick, buy a plan. They have to cover you for your preexisting condition.
