The game had a sense of déjà vu from start to finish: Tanmay Srivastava, opening in place of Shreevats Goswami who had fallen for a duck in the previous game, almost suffered the same fate when he edged Dhawal Kulkarni down the leg side in the opening over. Naman Ojha, however, failed to hold on to the offering and Srivastava was on his way. Shikhar Dhawan began aggressively once again, but it was Srivastava who took control with a well-paced century. After the inevitable lull in the middle overs, Manoj Tiwary once again launched a late assault to leave India Green gasping. Dhawan began the fireworks, pulling Kulkarni for six in the fifth over, and slamming him for three consecutive fours in the seventh. Srivastava was more watchful, feeling his way to 17 at the ten-over mark. Abhimanyu Mithun removed Dhawan in the 12th over, and in the process stalled the momentum of the innings . Ajinkya Rahane, who had been in top form coming into the game, scratched around to score seven off 22 balls, as India Green threatened to rein things in. Yuvraj Singh could not make an impression either and his exit in the 26th over left India Blue struggling at 118 for 3. Srivastava, however, had reached his half-century by now, and was about to turn the tide along with Tiwary. The pair laid the platform with a mixture of deft placement smart running before opening up in the 40th over. Srivastava brought up his ton with three successive boundaries off Mithun and the pair took the batting Powerplay in the next over. Srivastava, however, could not cash in and was stumped off Ashwin. There was no stopping Tiwary, though, as he accelerated with mathematical precision in the final ten. With wickets falling at the other end, he kept the flag fluttering with a boundary each in the 43rd, 46th and 49th overs. He smashed Mithun for a six and a four in the final over before perishing for 84 in search for the final flourish. Piyush Chawla finished the innings by paddle-scooping Mithun for six more, setting India Green a daunting chase under lights. Their response was meeker than yesterday's, as RP Singh and Chawla bullied them with regular wickets. Robin Uthappa briefly threatened to repair the innings, but his exit for 30 signaled the end of the game as a contest. The final rites were administered in the 37th over as India Green folded for 147. Their captain, S Badrinath, later noted that his side has conceded 30 runs too many, but in reality, the gap between the two sides was much wider than that.

yes RKT... Umesh was bowling consistently at 146K and was damn fast even on a average indian track.. he will be 150 + on outside india tracks and will be virtually unplayable . this guy shud be playing test matches soon possibly ahead of unadket also once he works with zaheer he will become a dangerous bowler he needs to work with zaheer and nehra and learn how to bowl yorkers well ..i feel he is just about to bomb and succeed big soon

Uthappa should have opened instead of Ojha. Also from what I have heard of Umesh he dosent bowl nearly as fast as 140+ in FC matches. Not sure he is a test bowler though maybe he can play a role in ODIs Good to see Srivastav score in the only match he played in, good promising opener he is will be interesting to see how he fares this year

i dnt think you have seen him bowl...in irani trophy too he was quick but erratic....in challenger he was quick and was on target...was unfortunate not to get more wickets...batsmen didnt take much chances on him and were playing of the back foot mostly, mere defensive shots went for four on his pace while yuvi didnt have fielders on the offside and was attacking with slips and short leg, do u believe he has a short leg in place in limited over game, as an indian pace bowler, got a lot of edges on short balls which hurried the batsman... and remember he has already taken the wickets of dravid and laxman in duleep trophy match while bowling 140+.... he is a serious talent to be nurtured for future and i saw his superb seam position in the final of the Challenger trophy which will help him get the seam and swing in helpful condition....he just needs to concentrate on basics and not to experiment too much

Along with Vinay K' date=' Umesh he could have a role to play[/quote'] Never went past the 125 kmph mark!! Looks to have lost all his pace, IIRC was bowling in mid 130s during IPL-1. But loss of pace has meant more variation which he used to good effect duting the series. But, unless he starts touching the 130s again, will be hopeless in ODIs.

But, unless he starts touching the 130s again, will be hopeless in ODIs.[/quote'] No, those speed guns were crappy, he was bowling much faster than what they showed....before the final match in the league match against greens......Umesh Yadav's deliveries never clocked over 136 in that game and it was visually evident that he was bowling quicker than what speed gun was showing.......though in the final match speed guns were showing the right speed and Umesh Yadav's fastest bdelivery clocked at 146 in his second over 2 consecutive deliveries were 146 ks and Yomahesh in the same final match bowled up to 135 ks Yomahesh's good thing is that he has a very good action and he bowls very close to the stumps vey wicket to wicket and gets movement from there...he has one of better actions in Indian Fast bowlers, side on and good for outswingers

Yes Rkt India...This is Vishal... I agree that umesh is theone to watch out for ..only thing which surprises me is that he is not taking that many wickets and i agree batsman play him with a lot of caution. i also wanna say that normally guys who take wickets may not be best bowlers as bowlers normally take wicekts when a batsman is taking chances against them and when a batsman is playing too safe he hardly gets himself out.. even a no 11 BATSMAN can manage to save his wicket against good balls when he is untra defensive....i agree it seems batsman are ultradefensive against umesh and the runs he leaks are normally edges and he is a bit like agarkar fast and swift.. time for considering him. in internation cricket players will be careful against zaheer and this guy will get wickets... I mean he will suceed in international criekt... yo mahesh is OK but he has slowed down a bit and he swings and manages swift pace but he needs to be faster to trouble international players...
