jibranpatel15 Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 my playing II are: Vijay Kohli Sharma Raina Yuvraj Dhoni P.kumar Aswin Nehra Munaf *No need for jadeja as India already have Virat(m.pace),yuvvraj(left arm slow),Raina(right arm spin),rohit(right arm spin).
vvvslaxman Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Annatha treat him as a bowler, not as an all rounder, whether u like it or not Dhoni will play him:giggle: Only way of knowing who is better(Ashwin/Jaddu) is by playing them both. I think Dhoni should drop that pannadai Jadeja
Andy Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 The day Rohit and Jadeja gets dropped from the squad. I'll change my Moniker to 'Dhoni_Raks" :giggle:
Cricketics Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 After having playede so many twenty20s and done well in it, I won't mind Vijay playing in Odi in subcontinent. Now compare that to Waseem Jaffer's selection in odi squad during south africa tour of 06 when we lost the series 0-4 there and BCCI had sent Sehwag to vacation for 1 year that time.
The Dark Horse Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 I think Dhoni should drop that pannadai Jadeja First he should divorce him:giggle:
Andy Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 After having playede so many twenty20s and done well in it' date=' I won't mind Vijay playing in Odi in subcontinent. Now compare that to Waseem Jaffer's selection in odi squad during south africa tour of 06 when we lost the series 0-4 there and BCCI had [b']sent Sehwag to vacation for 1 year that time. Dropping Sehwag was very much justified then. The guy had put on Tons of weight, he lost his game of Playing straight. The only thing he was looking to do is to hit through the square all the time. Couldnt Handle in coming deliveries. He was just looking opposite to what he has when he made his debut. Am a Huge sehwag fan, But this are facts. What BCCI did wrong was after the ODI series against Pak they didnt pick him for the test series. The 5th ODI he played against Pak made a very good 50 and was looking much solid than when he was dropped. He lost a lot of weight too. That innings had a stright drive from Sehwag, Cover drive, which clearly showed the guy has got it back, only if the Selectors could see. I was shocked when he was not even among 30 probables for the AUS tour. And i can easily say Had Sehwag been there at MCG things could have been different. RD opening with WJ was BS strategy when you have Sehwag around. Since then Sehwag never looked back.
saneindian Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Likely ODI 11s Aus : Warner, Marsh, Clarke, Hussey, White, Hopes, Paine, Steve Smith, Bollinger, Mckay, Starc/Hastings India: Vijay, Dhawan, Kohli, Yuvraj, Raina, Dhoni, Tiwary/Rohit, Ashwin, PK, Nehra, Munna/Vinay Batting wise , both teams look almost equal though Aussies will have an edge due to Hussey and White. Aussie bowling looks more potent. For India, Yuvraj's batting and bowling form could be the key to us winning this series. Also, if Dhoni was to opt out of any match, Yuvraj will be the captain of the side (unless they ask Raina to lead)!!
Sooda Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 ^ If only Dhoni COULD sit out! There is no backup keeper. Plus I think both Ashwin and Jadeja will (or should IMO) play as they can both bat-ish. So probably no place for Tiwary/Rohit at least for the opening match
ViruRulez Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 I would surely want to see Saurav Tiwary actually play this time round and not remain just a substitute .. he has got perfect temperament and is a team man which is essential for ODIs especially. I see him as a very bright prospect in the future and hope that he is given a chance to bat at least in this series. Not a bad team selection but I would surely like to see Saurav Tiwary bat this time and not just remain a mere substitute.
