I would give chances to all 8 and rotate them .. we will need 3 replacements for Sachin, Dravid and VVS soon and so cannot afford to neglect anybody .. all of them needs to be given chances and honed up for the future when the famous trio retires ... Raina, Pujara and Vijay would be my ideal replacements

Vijay and Pujara makes way for the others.I think they will get their chances in a year or so when our seniors retires, till then they need to stay focused and continue performing in the limited opportunities they get.

Pujara's debut reminds me of Laxman's debut against SA. Both selected in the back of their prolific run scoring in domestic cricket..it reached a stage where selectors just can't ignore hence drafted in to the side! Short stays at the crease in the 1st innings but convinced all that they belongs to international stage. In the second innings one plays an innings that sets up a win for the team and the other plays a match winning innings in a tense chase! Finally both were not automatic choices for their debut test. Laxman got a chance because Ganguly was injured and now Pujara replaced an injured Laxman.

and he grabbed the opportunity, which matters. People like Rohit Sharma have got way too many opportunities, I guess it is time to stop considering him for a year

Pujara Impressed me as Much Ganguly, Dravid did in 96 series as a Middle Order Batsman. Since then, no debutant has been as good.

^ Raina
To be honest, I'll rate Che's effort above him. Raina had good experience playing as an ODI regular. Che had to bat at #3 in his international debut on a fifth day pitch in Bangalore - that's a class apart IMO :winky:
