those stats never made sense to me . I said Ganguly never dominated Murali , like how Lara did . Scoring at ease is different , which Ganguly did against most spinners.

Still you can see he's the first big name in the list among Zimbock bowlers and part timers.. None of the premium bowlers were spanked that much :hysterical:

no , but his exclusion from the list is not very surprising , cos cleary there other batsmen who have had a bigger impact

Number 4 sidhu. Wow warne and murali both respect him big time Navjot must go down as one of the greatest players of spin ever. Lara at 1 is understandable as he took murali to cleaners

Sidhu is very underrated as a batsman. Both Warne and Murali rate him very high. He had one of the best foot work against spin.

Nice to see Sidhu paaji's name is the list.. Havent seen a lot of him as he was almost retired by the time I grew up. But goin thru past videos, he looked like battin very well against spinners !

Sidhu started scoring good runs regularly just when many were concerned about who would fill the void after the gr8 Sunil Gavaskar retired. a very gutsy batsman...tonked spinners to sixes with ease and also won many matches for the team in his career :two_thumbs_up:

I thought they divided the overall runs scored against murli by the number of times murli got them out. How can it be calculated any other way???

Lucknow test is the first to come to my mind talking about Sidhu-Murali. Sidhu smashed 8 sixes during his 124 against SL. 6 of them came off Murali's bowling.

the difference is at that time murli wasnt the murli he became later with his variations like doosra's which created problems against every batsman and his round the wicket angle was tough...before 2000 he wasnt bowling the doosra but after he started bolwing doosra he was the toughest bowler in the world to hit especially in subcontinent

You need ball-by-ball details to achieve. It is one stat that i rarely rely upon. For instance Virendar averages 31 against Akhtar. But truth is Virendar scored 120 odd runs in 90 balls from Akhtar in Tests. I went through each and every score card and found this stat something you won't find in this stat. That is utter domination. I have pretty much watched every ODI/Test between SL and India. He dominated Murali like nobody until Lara's epic series in Srilanka.
