Karan114 Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Mohammad Asif withdraws appeal against suspension By Rory Dollard, Press Association Sport Mohammad Asif, one of the three Pakistan cricketers at the centre of an International Cricket Council spot-fixing investigation, has withdrawn an appeal against his provisional suspension. Seam bowler Asif was provisionally suspended by the game's governing body alongside Test captain Salman Butt and new ball partner Mohammad Amir after the ICC initiated an investigation into newspaper allegations that the trio had acted in association with illegal bookmakers during their summer tour of England. All three took up the option of appealing their bans and their cases were due to be heard in Doha on October 30-31. Butt and Amir have not followed Asif's lead and their hearings will now continue as planned. http://www.sportinglife.com/cricket/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=cricket/10/10/22/CRICKET_Asif.html

ShahidAfridi Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 atleast this scumbag knows he is a scumbag' date=' other 2 still wanna deny :giggle:[/quote'] Asif's laywer wants more time to build up a defense case and since Asif cant play vs South Africa in dubai then what is the point of him appealing now. Butt and Amir want to play in dubai vs South Africa
Mamu Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 some scumbags are smart. At least he will keep the money with out spending it on attroneys. Other two ! Oh well!
CSK Fan Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 He has just withdrawn his appeal against his suspension and not against the case. He knows he wouldnt have played in the UAE series anyways and his lawyer wanted more time.
ViruRulez Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 and the circus continues :aha::aha::aha::dance::aha::aha::aha:
Cricket_Guru Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 and the circus continues :aha::aha::aha::dance::aha::aha::aha: its not your fault, the amount of circuses go on in PCB its hard to contract the good step taken by anyone, in this case its a an obvious and no harm decision to withdraw from the appeal.

He knows he wouldnt have played in the UAE series anyways and his lawyer wanted more time. Why would any sane person do that, if you are not guilty? If I am calling you a murderer, wouldn't you want your name cleared as soon as possible, irrespective of the fact that life is going on as usual for you?
vvvslaxman Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 retire/unretire, deny/accept, ban/unban- U-turn specialists
fineleg Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 The circus happens, yet ICC wont ban Pak from Intl cricket for a couple of years at least! Till they can prove that they have cleaned up their act.
Shakthi Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 What happened to jazbaa junoon himmat na haar of Asif? chalo ek chor tho pakdaa gaya ab dho baaki hain.

kabira Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 well if 3 guys were suspended together, why one guy is opting out. Shouldn' t they show united front?
Deleted_User_1 Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 When are the guys going to be get banned. It seems like ICC is investigating for ever. For heaven's sake, enough already!
gaurav92 Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 atleast this scumbag knows he is a scumbag' date=' other 2 still wanna deny :giggle:[/quote'] :haha::haha:
ravishingravi Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Well he is only asking for additional time. Either ways, this is the most conclusive evidence ever in the history of match/spot fixing in any sport. It is only a matter of time.
Pak_Forever Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Butt and Asif are gone for long. Got a good feeling Amir won't get more than a year.....but then again...you are innocent until you are proven guilty.....now this thread will turn from laughs to anger. :haha:
