Master :salute:
Precambrian, What is the strike rate of SRT till now in this innings?S/R 27? Hope you understand why Dravid (who was trying to find form after a lean run in prev series') was also batting slow. LOL! Sehwag scores and you got fooled by strike rate and were criticizing RD for slow batting. This is Tests and runs more vital, centuries more vital, than strike rate. Its a bonus we got someone like Sehwag.

whats the probability that he'll average 60 before he hangs up his boots? :yay:
i would say pretty high, esp considering how the likes of Sehwag demoralize the opposition by delivering a KO punch early on

ah-ha Sachin fanatic in action .... such insecurity abt sachin's position that fanatics hesitate to give credit to the likes of Sehwag for delivering a KO punch so that others can milk the bowling and consolidate :P

ah-ha jealous anti-sachin fanatic, who is insecure about sachin's position by hesitating to give sachin total credit by trying to bring in external factors as excuses for his fantastic performances. by the way are you implying that if sehwag was present as an opener since sachin's debut that sachin's average would be 70... i.e higher than his peers ? :P

No point in it. That average will drop down if he's dismissed. He'll probably need to get about 120 odd runs (total) if he wants his average to stay 57 even after being dismissed.
he was averaging 56.97 I think before this inning, will need to score a century to get upto 57, not a small achievement though to have 57 avg after playing test cricket for 20+ years

:hmmmm: I put up the circular thingy pic to show it works both ways. Never do I say Sehwag doesn't deserve credit to killing the spirit of the bowlers to make things easier for the others. But at the same time you should accept he's able to play in such fashion because of the batters we have behind him.

Can't compare the two. Dravid came in at 60/1, there was no need for him to be so cautious. Thanks to Sehwag, he played within himself to get back to form. No harm done with his slow batting as Sehwag compensated. If Dravid had rotated his strike more earlier, Sehwag would have scored a 200 today. Tendlya was saving wkts at the end of day's play. He came in the last session. Another wkt (like Dravid) would have costed us more, exposed the lower MO earlier than expected. Criminal of Dravid to give away his wicket at that stage after settling down well. But good that he is back with some runs, he can go out with his head held high.

I was under the impression that Sehwag plays the way he does irrespective of the situation or who he has in his team. But today, I learned something new :P

He is only getting better with time. Can someone post as to how much he needs to average going forward and over how many tests to get to a career avg of: a) 60 b) 65

So he hasnt scored big even when Sehwag failed recently, cue the Aus series? You make it seem like he is milking ONLY when Sehwag has set a platform? How is that different from any Sachin fanatic?
