Stalemate between India and NZ

You guys are missing the point. NZ has managed 6 draws against India in India out of the last 7 tests. It is not one off thing. Even in NZ India rarely manages a win. After a long drought we pulled off one win recently. Every other team has simply murdered NZ sometime or the other due to reasons i mentioned above.

May be it's NZ. They play such boring cricket and players with such boring names and attitudes, they don't rile up our boys enough to play for a win.

They played on some of the flattest tracks Motera Mohali Again Motera then Wellington (we should have won that one) Then Napier (Gambhir Epic, flat track, did not even break on 5th day) Again Motera long back, Motera should be banned Again Mohali, we would have won that game after getting shot at only 83, pitch got slower and easier as days went on

I think our team doesn't take NZ seriously and they are not pushovers either. Hence the stalemate.

More to do with the bowling attack..Newzealand seems to have a better spin attack compared to the other sides. Jeetan and Vettori would be more than a handful if we prepare a raging turner against them..... this could still be a stalemate unless Sehwag fires a triple hundred...

:hysterical: Jeetan patel :giggle: is an OK spinner at best. Randiv, Ojha etc are much better spinners than him. Vettori is very good, but not good enough to pose us a threat IMO.

India has that strength. NZ probably did better in that area. But NZ's weakness is express pace. We don't have it. Basically our strength is neutralized by their strength. We get into a no-win situation.

However at Ahmedabad and Hyderabad, the pitches haven't been rough enough to rough up the ball and make it suitable for reverse swing. In fact it was interesting to see DHoni say that (Shastri also mentioned this) as the days went by , at Ahmedabad and Hyderabad some green grass had started to grow on the pitches binding the surface perfectly!!

When India fails it is because lack of quality in Indian bowling especially spinners when playing in India, Indian bowlers had dropped catches too in both matches nobody wants to acknowledge that fact. On these flat pitches where every catch has to taken Indian dropped key ones Ryder was dropped when he was 18 and williamson given a life by umpire when on 56 both of them scored 100s in first test but it is overlooked.In this match Guptil was out on noball and was dropped very early who knows how those things would have changed. When SA with Steyn and Morkel also failed today against a line up which is far worse than this NZ line up but that is due to pitch being flat and dropped catches.They just took one wicket when they had so much lead which in my book is far more worse than Indian performance. In my view it is batting which has let Indian team down in this series, they had excellent starts in both matches but were not able to put up 550 plus which never would have given NZ any hope to stay in match. Longer they stayed in the match the more belief they got and third test would be tough one also, NZ team now has belief that they can compete with India and that is never good.
