saneindian Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 18 year old KL Rahul, who played a few matches in the u-19 WC this year ,made his Ranji debut as an opener in the Punjab vs Karnataka match. We are going to hear a lot about him in the future. A batsman in the classical mould and is very good to watch.Saw him score 61 runs in helping Karnataka beat Punjab by 8 wickets. Some of the shots he played were outstanding. Very good defence and nice footwork. One for the future. Will be very interesting to see how he progresses from here on.
urbestfriend Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Yeah...Promising youngster! Difficult to predict how he turns out..Also he can keep wicket too..If he improves his keeping, he can be our second rung test keeper, though it is too early.

Very solid, orthodox technique.........and unlike Vijay and Dhawan.......he uses his feet against all kinds of bowling........not troubled by shot pitch bowling either........if this guy turns out to be the real deal........we'll have one half of our test opening slot secured for a decade........just hope that IPL will fall down to the very bottom of his priority list.......

Lets see if he has patience for Aussies 8-2 field if he were selected over dhawan. My thoughts exactly. Has a propensity to chase the wider deliveries. Plus untested against short deliveries. Our trundlers were delivering full balls after full balls due to the greenish pitch. Play style and grace is similar to Murali Vijay. Too early is my call.

Shivaji bhonsle Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 A good thing to notice about Kl Rahul is that he just hit one six in the whole ranji season last year. But, he seems to have changed his approach when I saw him hit 4-5 sixers few days ago in Vijay hazare trophy.
