I dont like the way that people dismiss this inning as a lost cause. There is still some extreme annoyance value that we can produce to shift momentum in our favour a la VRV Singh back then. Also, the way that Dhoni has farmed the strike has been excellent. And something else, a part of me enjoyed a different brand of cricket in different conditions. Its nice to see such wickets after a long drought of greentops that we have had (not to say that many wickets that we played on werent hard to bat on). And hats off to Morkel and Steyn. Steyn must have an absurdly good record against us in SA wins.

The skipper has to step up to the plate tomorrow morning. A quickfire 25-35 (more runs) is needed to try and push us up towards 175 and then we need to try and skittle out the Saffers for 250 max. Ishant and Sreesanth CANNOT have a bad day tomorrow otherwise this defeat will be humiliating.

Can we expect a similar wicket tomorrow. I've heard it will be sunny, so it may dry up and SA may get to enjoy a nice wicket. And the key thing is the bowlers have to get it right from the start, there is no time to get into the groove. We don't have the luxury of runs to play with this time.

Pretty lame to see batsmen other than Tendulkar and Bhajji playing without any conviction. The pitch wasn't bad, just the psyche of the batsmen facing was like they were facing Steyn & Co. on a minefield; way too defensive and tentative. Unfortunately, history repeats itself as far as most of our overseas series begin ... with a meltdown.

let's hope for some overnight rain to keep some moisture in the track. I wouldn't even mind if the first hour was rained out, then we can have a fresh pitch to bowl on. If we can get them out for less then 250, game on. We can do much better in the 2nd innings.

You don't need speed to get wickets, look at Mohammad Asif, he bowls at 78 mph and averages around 24.

I hope Bhajji grows a pair and justifies his presence in the team as a frontline bowler. He has always asked for pitches with bounce and he has one tailormade for him. Let's see how he bowls.

Some people are forgetting that SAF have to bat last on this pitch. Hopefully, we can bundle them out for 150-200 odd and then get some runs on the board.
