This test surely can be saved
LOL! :haha: Wake up, the series is NOT in India
As Yoda said' date=' we miss Zak. ![/quote'] Shehez, While India missed ZK, its not the only reason. Our bowlers are impotent. ZK can have done a trick or two. But the rest of the bowlers dont show up, its no use. For example, Instead of SA declaring at 600-7 (with ZK), they'll declare at 600-4 (without ZK). Until and unless the other doofuses of Indian bowling lineup put their hands up - this series is a lost cause. And we can stop chest-thumping #1 Team in the world, well we are currently as per rankings - wont be for too long. (That last line is NOT for you - Shehez)

well 270 if they declare now.....the minimum they'll declare at is lunch tomorrow' date=' which leaves 215 overs. What's the highest we ever batted in the 2nd innings?[/quote'] Anyway they won't declare before tea tomorrow..we'll have to bat out more than 200 overs to save the test and it's not gonna be easy even with pitch easing out considerably.

According to StatsGuru, the most we've managed in the 2nd innings: 510 runs in 209 overs against England -> Lost But we have batted out 180 overs against New Zealand, and 178 overs vs Australia. We've been setting this records....why not this one?

that I agree with, but maybe Zaheer making some inroads could have worked them up a bit?

There's also rain possibility on days 4 and 5 so that's gonna play a big role.

We can draw this test - others (who are speculating whether we will loose this on day 4 or day 5) may not have so much confidence in our batsmen but I have.
If the series is being held in India or anywhere in the sub-continent, everyone would have backed India to save the game but in South Africa it's a different ball game altogether.

Cannot save this in SA against in-form Steyn, Morne breathing fire. Real hostile bowling attack they have, and we need all batsmen to fire. Viru is a screwup in 2nd Inn, Gambhir/Raina looking clueless, Laxy has the weakness of getting bowled, only Dravid (not at his best) and Tendu. What can two batsmen do?? Dhoni will be a noshow as far as batting is concerned.

Trust me guys, it is not very difficult pitch. SRT, VVS, Bhajji were batting reasonably well. Everybody will try and score in the second innings. If Sehwag goes on for 70-odd overs, we will not lose this by innings. Even RD/SRT or VVS stay there for long enough then we can try to scoree 400+ runs in the second innings to give away right impression. We just need to convey them that they got us in the first innings 1-odd time. We will fight. If we get anything above 450+ in the second innings, I think we have achieved what we need to from this test. Now real issue is that we do not have ability to take 20 wickets right now. With Zak added in the team, equation changes little bit and we get some early break throughs in the second test. It is sure that we will lose this one. Now lets see how far we can extend it and cut down the margin.

If Sehwag goes on for 70+ overs, we will probably score more than 450-500.
