saneindian Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Why don't you use your time to read the post fully rather than boldfacing and underlining it and replying rubbish?:--D Truth hurts , looks like it touched a raw nerve somewhere :winky:
vvvslaxman Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Batting in England isnt exactly the easiest of tasks. Ganguly averages 65 in England Dravid averages 65 in England Tendulkar averages 62 in England
Texan Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Kallis unfortunately does not get as much recognition as Sachin, Lara or Ponting. He is undoubtedly, one of the greatest all-rounders ever... right up there with Sobers, Miller and Imran Khan.
cameron_black Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 kallis is good batsman. currently has highest avg in all playing batsmen. sachin third place.
vvvslaxman Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Yeh he is a clear minnow basher' date=' runs against Zim, BD and India just shouldnt count, what a mediocre FTB.[/quote'] In the bowling department we are minnows. No problem accepting that. :winky:
Raghav_12 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Yeh he is a clear minnow basher' date=' runs against Zim, BD and India just shouldnt count, what a mediocre FTB.[/quote'] I'll not go as hard as quoted post, but Kallis overall numbers are skewed. I guess everybody would agree that five best teams of last decade or so, have been- India,Australia,Sr iLanka, England and SA. Pakistan, WI, NZ, Bangladesh have been pretty mediocre all through the decade and have been in league a notch below the top teams. Of all tier 1 countries, Kallis record is great only against India, against whom he scores @72. Against all other tier 1 countries, his averages have been just average, not great by any standards - SL- 34, Eng-43, Australia 41. Also India though have been a top test nation through out the decade, but their bowling has hardly been great. His averages against tier 2 nations - vs Pak 67, NZ 68, WI 74, BD-79, ZM 170. Decide yourself how his numbers really stack up.
Bublu Bhuyan Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Lol and you accuse others of doing stats picking!! :giggle:
jairamesh Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 King Pair vs Sri Lanka!:giggle: So it's true, Lanka is Kallis' boggie team.
jusarrived Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 I thot it was well known that Kallis struggles against god swing bowling .
jusarrived Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Ganguly averages 65 in England Dravid averages 65 in England Tendulkar averages 62 in England i think even agarkar avgs 35-40 :--D
youngindia Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Kallis may not be as good as Sachin or Lara' date=' but definitely ATG. As a player he's up their in top 10 ATGs like Imran, Bradman and Sobers.[/quote'] A player who does not excel or assume central stage vs the best (australia) is not an ATG by any means. he would be clearly below ponting.
Malcolm Merlyn Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Kallis cant play swing.Avgs 29 in ENgland. Got a pair today.i am happy.:yay:
Dravid_TheWall Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Kallis is a good player, such intense powers of concentration and great appetite for runs. Not to mention being able to bowl at average in early 30's! He would boost his average if he played in england now.
ganeshran Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 He is a prolific run scorer and a very valuable player to have in the team. Indian selectors would give their right arm to have someone like him playing for us. However there is something amiss in his batting which puts him below batting ATGs. His strokeplay though technically perfect, is dour at times and doesnt quite evoke the same emotional response as a SRT or Lara cover drive or a Ponting pull shot does.

His strokeplay though technically perfect, is dour at times and doesnt quite evoke the same emotional response as a SRT or Lara cover drive or a Ponting pull shot does. Doesn't matter. Batting the way he does is a talent in its own right. To me, SRT, Lara and Punter are ATGs. Dravid and Kallis are slightly below.
Rajiv Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 King Pair vs Sri Lanka!:giggle: So it's true, Lanka is Kallis' boggie team. If a batsman is out first ball he has made a golden duck and if a batsman is dismissed first ball in both innings he has achieved a king pair
indiaregulator Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 kallis is good batsman. currently has highest avg in all playing batsmen. sachin third place. Trott averages higher than all of them.
Number Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 This wasnt a bad wicket to bat at all. He is out of touch it seems.
deathmonger Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Trott averages higher than all of them. phuck man let him play a few years more. even raina avgd 100+ after debut.
peterparker Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Yeh he is a clear minnow basher' date=' runs against Zim, BD and [b']India just shouldnt count, what a mediocre FTB. excuse me..what does that mean? india a minnow
