Several folks said Eng bowlers are good only in English conditions (esp James.A.)...and they are home-track and home-cloud-cover bullies who will struggle in Australian conditions. Despite a weak Aussie batting lineup they were supposed to overhaul the Eng bowlers. What changed? Is this truly fantastic stuff from James Anderson and co.? They are showing their bowling can succeed outside England too.

No England actually imported the weather to Australia and its swinging around, Anderson is rubbish really. I mean look now its cloudy, this never happens in aus

Well lets have a look at this tour when he is averaging 25' date=' I thought he wouldnt buy a wicket in Aus where the ball doesnt swing?[/quote'] innit m8, quite a deviation from the regular trend of bowling tripe away from home but i guess this is indicative of how crap the oz batting lineup has become that they can gift away wkts to a bowler of jimmeh boy's 'qualiteh'

Or maybe Anderson has matured as a bowler and has improved quite a lot? Indias greatest ever trundler the legendary Zaheer Khan used to be terrible until he improved.

yeah hes my favourite trundler he is, altho he is a bit of a minnow basher, as we saw when he ripped apart the minnows of the english batting lineup the last time we toured

Two things have happened here.. just a general observation: The England bowling attack has improved over the years and the Aussie batting has declined. Ponting is still continuing his hopeless form and Watson is not a good opener. You can't rely on the likes of Hussey to come through all the time.

This is a fantastic wicket for fast bowlers..good bounce, pace, and movement..any bowler will thrive here...the delivery take watson was nasty..jump up from good length

Yeh and that green top at Adelaide that Anderson exploited the bastard.
my answer was for the OP who has a history of creating spontaneous threads. I'm not saying he's junk, he's a good bowler but this pitch certainly helps seamers.

The thread is not only abt this pitch - but the series itself. Even on this pitch - while the pitch is helpful to the bowlers - the Eng bowlers still needed to put the ball in the right areas, so kudos to them for that. But also in the rest of the series Anderson&co. have done very well, and one has to say they have proved critics wrong. These guys have improved tremendously in their ability to play outside the Queen's country.

Not to mention the steep bounce the MCG pitch offered from good length area! :winky:

England have been superb on this tour. Anderson has been brilliant and arguably he has not picked up the amount of wickets he has deserved. He has come of age on this tour. Tremlett has also looked superb and Bresnan offered some control. Well played England!
