He is too valuable to missed now. I am thinking when Dravid retire, play Sehwag at 5 and open with Vijay and Gambhir...Laxman at one down..

He will struggle in England.[/quote'] With all due respect..It does seam around in MCG first morning.. and if you have watched game...we hardly scored in first hour..Sehwag was leaving a lot and was hit on helmet by Brett Lee. That pitch was new ball pitch..

If you consider that great where some of the finest openers of the game have averaged a lot more in England I am happy for you. I normally don't pick on Indian players here I am merely pointing out sehwag's inability against the moving ball. If he does well on our next tour I will be happy to take back my words. However he is going to struggle there.

I have watched that innings and Sehwag indeed played well but the point remains that the movment in Oz is not comparable to England, SAF and NZ and he struggled in all those places. He has an issue against movement not pace. It is very apparent.

Dude I truly admire Sehwag's batting, he has given this team an edge we have never had. That is totally besides the point. His struggles against the moving ball is the only point I am raising.

It is very apparent.[/quote'] Well if you watched today's knock..he left a lot..survived for 50 mins,,saw Steyn off...Had he survived that particular over..Morkel's last over probably..he is enemy of himself..Today he was determine and today he got out to good delivery.

Don't worry - from what we know of Sehwag ( and Sachin) they will ensure Sehwag is better prepared for England. Do not underestimate these guys. After the amount of hard work they put in, they hate it much much more than we - when they fail.

However he is going to struggle there. yes that was a GREAT tour because he was a 24 year old newcomer in international cricket and was playing his FIRST ever test series as an opener. and he did exactly what u claim he cant, which is score a hundrd against the moving ball at trent bridge. he will be fine in england
cowboysfan Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 I still think he is a bit out of form compared to his heyday when he has scoring a century every other match.He just needs to shake the injury bug and spend a lot of time in the middle,its a shame he wont get practice for the world cup as he is missing the ODI series.

Gauti by the end of the year will be ticking all the boxes for being successful in an away series. What a player, what grit, what determination. A big slap on the face of the SA commies who had written him off after his struggles in the 1st innings of the 1st test.
