kabira Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 My take is if they were going to acquitted they would have done it quickly so that they could have played in WC. The charges seem to prove beyond the doubt, now they want to just talk to ICC, PCB and hand over punishment.

Akmal,Gul, Sami, Aktar, Afridi were all pronounced great too but nothing relevant came out of it. Take for example,Ajay Jadeja. He was the player next in the pecking order after Azhar and Sachin in our team. But, even without proper evidence, he was dropped and banned. Now, we have 0 cheaters and match fixers. Take a look at what pakistan did....10 years later 7 players in your squad are supposed to be match fixers. If you let go of Amir now, it will be 10 more players in a few years.

The fact that he was only 18-19 one had a feeling he can only get better. It's also true that if he's not punished severely, it will give rise to more match fixing in the future. I have wanted them all to be banned from day 1. Pakistan are actually doing better since the 3 cheaters left.
