Do South Africans feel insulted if they are called Africans? Like Indians don't like to called Asians, which is a term widely used for the Chinese variety. In fact in the last Census -- where they ask you for your race, they had a special category for India -- not sure what the Pakis, Sri Lankans and Banglas choose.
