asterix Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 UV has to play. This could well be his last WC. He deserves it.
Sir john Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Team is good provided Kohli starts working on his medium pace skills..if he can develope some reverse swing skills' date=' it will be great..[/quote'] not possible.
asterix Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Don't discount Raina's fielding abilities. We can never imagine winning WC without good fielding. Raina must play even at the cost of Viru. :hysterical:
Sid Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Don't discount Raina's fielding abilities. We can never imagine winning WC without good fielding. Raina must play even at the cost of Viru. :cantstop:
spectre Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 How does that matter to what I have said...hope you understand how a ODI game is played...too much of test kirkut can spoil you.. So, what's Raina's average at number 3? The fact is it's between Yuvraj and Raina. Yuvraj will play because of his bowling. Signed - The Outsider.
The Outsider Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Don't discount Raina's fielding abilities. We can never imagine winning WC without good fielding. Raina must play even at the cost of Viru. :rotfl: It seems some fan boys have lost it.
urbestfriend Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 :hysterical: Why? Viru hasn't done jack in short format of the game and moreover he can't bowl with this injured shoulder. Raina brings an all round package with his batting, bowling and fielding. I am not saying Viru must vacate his spot but Raina definitely deserves a chance ahead of him. In my starting lineup Kohli,Raina,GG,sachin will be there and I chose 2 from rest.
zen Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 There is a reason why VS is the VC of the team :winky:
The Outsider Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 How does that matter to what I have said...hope you understand how a ODI game is played...too much of test kirkut can spoil you.. Well you said we can't compare Kohli and Raina since Kohli bats at the easier number 3 spot and Raina at the tougher number 6 spot, so I am comparing them at the same spot - number 3 to level the playing field.
spectre Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 its between Kohli and Gambhir for that No.3 spot. Yusuf has sealed the No.7 place for WC
someone Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 At the moment, Dhoni does not deserve to be in the team. Leaving too much in his own hype.
The Outsider Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 its between Kohli and Gambhir for that No.3 spot. Yusuf has sealed the No.7 place for WC You can keep dreaming but Gambhir and Kohli will both play at numbers 3 and 4 respectively. They'll be followed by Dhoni, Yuvraj, and Pathan.
Sachin=GOD Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 UV has to play. This could well be his last WC. He deserves it. and what exactly has Yuvraj done in the last few months to "deserve a spot in the World Cup team?? Raina has been our most consistent batsman lower down the order and he does deserve to be in the team.
spectre Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 In ODIs batting at No.3 is much easier than coming in at No.6. Also the runs and averages will be much higher for a opener or someone coming in @ no.3 or 4 Guys coming in at No.6 or 7, invariably have to go all out to score quick runs and thereby sacrificing their wickets. you cant compare this with the stats of openers or No.3. Also, Kohli has played all his ODI matches in subcontinent before this series Raina can bat @ No.3 (go look at his show in NZ) but Kohli is waste @ No.6 or 7 As someone said, he is the best No.6 for last 2 years and people here want him dropped..:hysterical: Well you said we can't compare Kohli and Raina since Kohli bats at the easier number 3 spot and Raina at the tougher number 6 spot' date=' so I am comparing them at the same spot - number 3 to level the playing field.[/quote']
Manny_Pacquiao Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 lets drop tendulkar he had low scores in the first 2 games while yusuf and kohli lit it up. raina is the best fielder and a part time option so u cant drop him. this shud b the batting lineup sehwag raina yusuf kohli harbhajan dhoni yuvraj
spectre Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 We are going to see that right...who is gonna dream You can keep dreaming but Gambhir and Kohli will both play at numbers 3 and 4 respectively. They'll be followed by Dhoni' date=' Yuvraj, and Pathan.[/quote']
