India's master blaster Sachin Tendulkar is all set to have a home in a 700-acre golf course in Ahmedabad. The 18-hole golf course, known as the Kensville Golf and Country Club, has attracted many top sportsmen and film stars to invest in the villas. Sachin Tendulkar: Life in pictures Ajay Sethi, chairman of the Dubai based Channel 2 Group is one of the promoters of this project. Speaking to Gulf News, Sethi said: "Tendulkar had got a 2,000 square yard plot of land and is expected to build a villa here shortly. He showed an interest in the golf course when he came to Ahmedabad for the first Test against New Zealand." Tendulkar's villa will come up at a prime location inside the golf course. "Many more sportsmen are buying the villas here. "Golfer Jeev Milkha Singh is the brand ambassador of this course and his villa is already under construction at the entrance of the course. Indian wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel has already got a plot here," Sethi said. Among actors Amitabh Bachchan is in the process of building a villa on the prime porperty too. The proximity of this city to Mumbai has been the key attraction for most investors. The property is just 35 kilometres from Ahmedabad city and is the brain child of Non Resident Indians (NRI) from Kenya and Dubai, supported by the Savy Group. The aforementioned course staged the first European Challenge Tour event in India between January 13 and 16. Bachchan inaugurated the course in the presence of many sportsmen. This event got Ahmedabad the honour of becoming only the third city to host an international men's golf tournament after New Delhi and Kolkata. Sethi, who had organised the Legends of Lord's function to mark the 25th year of Indian team's 1983 World Cup in Dubai, is now gearing up for a golf tournament for cricketers. http://gulfnews.com/sport/cricket/tendulkar-tees-up-with-stars-by-choosing-his-new-home-1.751551

Aala re aala Sachin aala! Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar will soon be a Puneite, rather a non-resident Puneite, if his camp followers are to be believed. Sachin has booked a luxury villa meant for the crème de la crème on Mumbai-Bangalore New Bypass in Ambegaon on the city’s outskirts. He is expected to visit the project site on January 27 and will be handed over the keys of his villa at Amit’s Bloomfield Residential Society developed by Amit Enterprises of which Tendulkar is a brand ambassador. The developer had posted many advertisements in the media and on roadside hoardings in the past few months that invited Puneites to meet the master blaster with the line, ‘Book a flat and meet Sachin’, under his larger than life photo. Many thought it to be a gimmick. Amit Enterprises confirmed to Mirror that the star cricketer was indeed coming and will be having a look at the progress of work at his villa. “He would be handed over the key by Amit Enterprises chairman and MD Kishore Pate,†a company spokesperson said. Pate had recently presented a symbolic key to Sachin at the latter’s Mumbai house. The spokesperson said Sachin will also be inaugurating a Club House, a cricket memorabilia gallery and felicitate other flat purchasers, who would be his neighbours. The cricket gallery will have a separate section for displaying the master blaster’s bat, a pair of gloves, pads and other cricketing gear donated by Sachin himself. Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) president Ajay Shirke said that it is a good sign that the master cricketer was showing keen interest in Pune. “Sachin has an old connection with the city. His sister stays in Aundh. Whenever, he comes to the city, he makes it a point to visit her place. Now, he has got a villa of his own,†Shirke said. Before Sachin, his schoolmate and fellow cricketer Vinod Kamble had made Pune his home in the Nineties. Sachin too is known to drive his Ferrari down to Pune whenever time permits. The promoters of the project claim the villa site is only 15 minutes from the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. His fans in Pune now hope that Sachin would be frequenting the city more often. “Sachin is a hero and resides in the hearts of each and every individual of the country,†Shirke said. Puneites cannot be any different. http://www.punemirror.in/article/2/2011012520110125221705858ba2ba97d/Aala-re-aala-Sachin-aala.html poor gujjus :hehe:

How does Sachin buying property in Gujarat make him a Guji/Gujju?. If he had property in Chennai, would you call him a Tamilian? If he bought property in Antarctica, would he convert to a penguin?

Have heard a lot about the rapid rise of real estate in Ahmedabad. It seems to be a good place for real estate investments. Congrats Sach. Hope you do not eat too many Dhoklas but eat nutritious food too for maintaining your fitness. :P

:hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: BTW Sachinism was just joking. Celebrities and nowadays even common people keep on buying properties all over India and some even invest abroad. Infact a substantial portion of high end real estate investments in India in upcoming cities like Gurgaon, Noida, Bangalore etc. are from abroad.

oh my God.....I want to kick myself hard. 3 years back, right opposite Kensville, saw bunch of land plots, selling cheap like 3000 Rs per yard. We just did not think about buying it since it was away from home... Damn, wish I had bought it..................Kick me kick me

That is the case with almost all Indians who did not buy extra plots of land in the past. At that time land used to be dirt cheap compared to today's prices. My mom always keep on saying about it as to why she did not buy several pieces of land which she got at dirt cheap prices 20-30 years ago when my parents started and got established in their respective careers. The same pieces of land are now upto 500-1000 times the price in these 30 years including our original home land. There was not much problem of land extortion mafia at that time too compared to today's date. But people in those days were more savings minded rather than investment minded like us and so did not invest much whereas we try every opportunity to invest and increase the moolah. Maybe our land would never save anything and only keep investing. Land would anyways not be avaialable for the next generation with the current population increase and continuous land prices inflation. Land would be more precious than any other thing in the future. Maybe it would cost less to make a trip to space then to buy a plot of land in the future if the current situation continues. :giggle:

BTW if you like being near sportsman and sports events then you can still buy a flat in Jaypee Sports City in Noida .. you can watch F1 every year a few hundred meters away from your house and will also be in proximity of an upcoming cricket stadium where Goddy might play :P
