Sreesanth shud now prove all that he is good also as a one day bowler as he is proving as a good test bowler.

jf1gp_1 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 not the best of news; Pk has been our best ODI bowler for some time now ; the obvious replacement is sreesanth, not ideal specially on Indian pitches but he is the best of the rest. If they pick someone besides Sree then its clear that they are trying to keep him out of the team. Additionally they could rectify the original problem with the squad and bring in a keeper.

Though there was no official word yet from the BCCI on Praveen, sources monitoring the developments have indicated that the fast bowler' dreams of playing his maiden World Cup were virtually over because the injury had not healed as fast as was expected. Praveen had picked up the injury at the outset of the ODI series last month in South Africa and was sent back immediately as a precautionary measure to recuperate at the NCA. But the recovery did not go as planned and Praveen was rushed to meet Dr Andrew Wallace, a London-based surgeon, who has treated many Indian players including Sachin Tendulkar. The BCCI officials were tight-lipped about the development, but it is understood that the board wanted to first approach the tournament's technical committee to report on Praveen's injury and get the approval for his replacement. In all likelihood that man could be Sreesanth, who was present in Bangalore on Monday and took a fitness test in the afternoon. But the BCCI has not gone public yet announcing the replacement. According to the tournament rules, once the technical committee receives the request it is passed straightaway unless there are any exceptional circumstances.

Sree is just too erratic to be a good ODI bowler - has the occasional good day but too many bad ones. The fact that Shamra is still in consideration is a sad indictment of the poverty of the bowling resources - he was the most expensive bowler in ODI's last season and just bleeds runs. And those it appears are the only options. Oh dear, oh dear. :facepalm:

Having said that SS or IS as ODI bowlers do not inspire anyone's confidence either. Based on that the lesser of all evils for this spot seems to be SS and hence he should get the nod if Pee K is indeed ruled out which I sincerely hope for.

Oh dear, oh dear. :facepalm: do tell which country has bucket full of fast bowlers waiting for opportunity; Pak is opening with razaq and have wahab in playing XI god only knows who they have on bench, SL minus malinga are toothless, we saw what happened to parnel when SA tried him for one game, Aus is the only team that has good fast bowlers sitting on bench; lets accept it their arent enough quality bowlers arent
